I don’t get to do too much, but I have done a few little things the last few weeks.

Toyota/Lexus tailgate dampener.

Finally cleaned up the cargo area. The recent 25% off Toyota parts kept it under $60.
PT206-60180-20. It fits my 2013 LX with third row removed but believe it fits all 2008's to 2021's.

Installed a set of Bilstein 6112’s over the weekend with OME UCA’s. That was the easy part…

Made the mistake of taking the 200 to Firestone out of sheer convenience. Drop off Saturday in the morning, receive a call later that afternoon stating the tech broke the driver side TRE.. Of course an OEM replacement is not available so I find something to get me back on the road. Will fix later, OEM TRE are on order. Finally pick up yesterday afternoon right as they are closing up shop. The Firestone rep hands me the alignment spec sheet and I was presented with another surprise. Looks like the old “toe and go” was performed. The marks I made on the eccentric bolts did not move one bit. Below is the alignment sheet.

Tundra red tow hooks for the win!

Had a couple of projects I have been meaning to share that were completed a few months ago. Finally sharing!

The first project was removing the 3rd row seats and creating a carpeted, plywood platform that could be easily removed, which I can use as a sleeping platform as well as store gear under, but still be easily removable if I needed to put the 3rd row back in or if I needed to haul anything larger. It fits an Exped Megamat great, and it's quite comfortable when sleeping back there. One of my favorite parts was finding these adjustable metal furniture legs on Amazon, which allowed me to dial in the perfect height easily.

The 2nd project was to do something with the 3rd row that was just now sitting on the floor in my garage!

I decided to create a simple plywood couch platform. The seats are just sitting on the platform and are not bolted down. I wanted to keep it very easy to remove if I needed to throw back into the Cruiser.

I’m totally doing this with our LX 3rd row. They won’t qualify for the living room but this is a much better idea than sitting in the corner somewhere in the basement.

All looks fantastic. I have the same covers (from Austrailia) for the third row wheel well holes and I really love your platform! great idea!

Overbuilt maybe? ;) 2x6 bracing? I'm not finding fault - I would've done the same. Excellent idea and execution!

Yes overbuilt for sure, just like our Land Cruisers 😉

Thank you! Had the extra lumber at my step-dads so we decided to use it 😃

Has anyone seen a video/guide on replacing the headlight bulbs? Looks simple enough just want to make sure I don't need to remove the headlight. I just ordered some upgraded high beam, fog, and turn signal bulbs from diode dynamics.

I told the wife I was gonna do this and while back but she said it wouldn't be allowed to be displayed in the house. Not sure i have room in the garage but I think you have inspired me to use some spare lumber to do it anyways. Maybe it will be allowed in the basement. Theres a guy/company that makes a finished high quality version of this to fit 100 series seats i think but nothing for 200 seats.

Details on that tailgate dampener? Thanks!
Saw it here:

And a video here:

And ordered from here:

I went a step further and took the time to color match the hinge with a can of Duplicolor spray paint. And just like in the thread listed above and the video, they supplied the wrong size bolt. If I remember correctly, it’s a 7mm x 1.0 thread pitch. It’s the same size as the bolts used to secure the interior tailgate panel, so you can use it in a pinch or to match it up at the hardware store.

A tip: when sliding the damper onto the shaft, rotate the damper clockwise, where the mounting pad is pointing up and use a pry bar to clock it back counter clockwise for final mounting. It’ll make sense when you get there. This provides the tension for the soft open.

Working on a repurposed drawer system that I have had in various trucks over the years. Just finished doing some little side panels and an anchor panel for my Vtomen 600W power station. The power station is trickle charged by the rear plug on the 200 series. Great little set up and it was very inexpensive. It basically simulates a little dual battery setup. Keeps my fridge running really easily and gives me plenty of USB power in the back.

Just need to finish it out with some carpet and it will look really good I think

Haven't posted in a while. Started working on my rig again after moving back to the states from Germany last year. Decided to put the rear seats back in so that we can take our kids and their friends camping. Built my first piece of furniture ever. Used some kind of pine plywood and it just tore apart with the tools that I have. I need to remake the front face plate and then I think I might stain it, but we'll see.

I cut through the cover on the LX for the tow point, slow and steady with the Dremel.

Came up a treat!!!

Looks a little phallic :o

Productive weekend on the 200:

-RW wheels and 285/75R17 Toyo AT3’s mounted.
-Slee KDSS relocate installed.
-New grille and emblem installed.
-Rear Bilstein 5160’s installed. Front 6112’s are on setting #5.

New wheel and tire setup is 10lbs lighter than my old setup. You can definitely feel the reduction in weight.
