We completed the climb which is way different than the last 3 times. Much more difficult. A-TRAC made it look easy.

On the way out there is huge rock and the lead truck went around on the left, I followed and forgot he had an ARB. There was a tree that did not move.

What is the best way to bend metal, heat it up? I need to remove everything and bend back straight.

There are a handful of us 100s owners here who have served this fine country(some who are still serving). It's young men like your son who provide us the freedom to enjoy all the great places we go. We're all indebted to him.

Thank you gents. I too have served leading up to and through the Gulf War era. You can say that my son has it in his blood.

As for the topic at hand, I'm starting on the brakes tonight and possibly the wheel bearings.

Addressed the following this week:

1 removed gap in front bumper and sliders after one inch lift. Too much work to lift the rear- basically cut entire bumper and reweld the entire bottom half. Adjusted side rails to accommodate the new height of front bumper and sliders

2. Removed rear lower control arms and built new ones out of Dom tubing and johnnie joints

3. Bent the pan hard rod back after last trip and 'momentum'

4. Removed rear sway bar. It was bent and even with the extended rear links from the 80, held the axle up about half an inch u see full droop. It also touched my shock body in movement along its path.

5. Built two inch extension in bump stops to accommodate 35's and change in rear shocks to longer travel. More so affected by tires size than shocks

6. Welded sliders to frame and got rid of hangly bits of u bolt hardware

7 custom bracket in bumper for winch remote plug in

Still to do before Friday: swap out selenoid, complete hardware to fridge power and switch and rotate steering wheel at the rag joint.

side rails are now better aligned with the fender, slider and bumper, not actually below the fender line
sliders now tucked up against pinch weld and welded to frame rails, connected to side rails, connected to bumper.
rag joint that needs separating and rotation
rear bumper with the gap remaining.. was thinking to add steel tube to cover gap but instead will likely just paint the gap black to blend.

Finally chased down a clank in the rear suspension I've had off and on for a year. I changed out the sway bar bushings and snapped one of the bolts that attaches the sway bar to the body mount. I replaced it with one from the bolt bucket that was just slightly smaller than the sleeve in the bushing, thinking it was close enough. Well, it wasn't, and I'm surprised at how much noise a sway bar can make when it can jiggle around a little. Got the OEM bolt yesterday, no more clank.

Well my stock muffler rotted out to the point the bottom 1/3 was completely missing along with the heat shield falling off I finally decided to replace it with this today. Fitment and quality is good waiting on gaskets from Toyota. Install was quick and easy. Removal of the old one was NOT quick and easy .

Stock replacement/direct fit. I like quiet.

Must use the race car technique:
- all receipts go into a sealed box which is never opened
- if the lid is ever dislodged, immediately adopt the Indiana Jones eyes closed tight trick until the lid is safely closed.

Just rear. Long story short, I ended up with an ARB rear diff I couldn't resell so I had it installed.

I'm waiting until I blow the front diff, go with 35s or otherwise decide to regear before I lock the front.

Yeah. ARB confirmed it was fine. eBay made me give the guy a refund anyway. And low and behold one of the gears no longer matched, the copper tube was bent and the solenoid was missing. Turns out the spider great set costs $500 by itself special order from Australia and you have to buy them as a set. Luckily JustDifferentials helped me out and sold me a spare one they has from some project.
