Installed new Trail Tailor extended front Sway Bar links (all the grease/oil there is just Fluid Film, no cause for alarm). Not sure if it's placebo effect or not, but if feels smoother/better now than before.

Also installed new 285/75R18 Duratracs. Have been waiting for the Duratracs to come out on this size for a long time.

It was a good week! 2002 Land Cruiser, I replaced all of the speakers with Infinity Reference and the sub with a Kicker CompRT. Installed the USA Spec BT45-TOY bluetooth adapter and added Bushwacker Fender Flares. Finally replaced the tires with Nitto Terra Grapplers - what a difference.

I am really enjoying this truck. Took the family over the mountains to Leavenworth last weekend and everything but the broken speakers, gas mileage and muffler drone was great. Took advantage of the mild weather today to get some work done. Replaced a bashed rear drivers door check assembly and replaced foam rings in all door speakers and the subwoofer. Spray painted the dingy speaker grills with a Krylon that matches the trim accent color.

Scraped off the weird sticker a P.O. had on the back window and installed one much more my style. My wife is convinced this truck is my mid life crisis, and the Weezer sticker confirms it. It was the first thing I added to my old Toyota pickup when I got it after college.

Next up: wait for friends lift to be installed so we can swap his AHC system with mine and take stock of the muffler install to plan a return to a milder more Lexus sound.

Finally tore into my recently purchased 2000 w/ 179K on the clock. 2 owner PA truck so some as expected rust scale underneath but surprisingly solid overall (wouldn’t have purchased otherwise). The rear bumper reinforcement & impact pad did need attention IMO so I pulled it apart and ordered new Toyota replacements. Applied POR15 to the rear section of the frame while it was accessible. Rig came with an OME 2.5”’ kit installed with Slee dif drop. I swapped out the 860 coils for 865 to level it out & soften the ride a bit. I only haul ski gear, mountain bike & golf clubs! And finally a set of Tundra wheels with 275/70-18 Duratracs. Installed 1”’BORA wheel spacers on the front. Ride drives handles great. Scheduled for a trip from PA to CO in the fall so still some preventive maintenance & baseline work to be done.

Did the 1” Bora spacers require any cutting/shortening of the factory wheel studs to fit?

Added some "chase lights". Amazon special LEDs with yellow tint film apply ontop.

Quick Question: I am wiring in extra Trunk lights and I wanted to tap into the 12V thats back here.
Which wire the Green one or the white and black is the power? I am assuming its the Green but wanted to be 110% sure before cutting.

They did. I threaded the nuts on before cutting. Used a thin cutoff wheel and cut at the first thread of the stud which was enough to clear the spacers. All nuts threaded off & back on without issue.

I always test to be sure and would suggest you do the same, but Toyota uses white/black as ground(-) everywhere I've seen.

Goodyear seems to offer the Duratrac in a few unique sizes, the 295/65/18 may be my next tire.

I adjusted throttle cable to take off the slack. Now my gas pedal response is nice and crisp and she doesn't hesitate to downshift on uphill as she used to. Just a 5 minute job.

Also confirmed that the nasty grinding noise coming from the front of the engine is really a buggered fan braket/pulley!

Installed
pro Clip for my IPhone yesterday ...one 🍌 job...I think I'm gonna like it..

Car is running rough so I dropped it off at the mechanic.
He told me that is was misfiring but no codes showed up at the different scan tools they used.
It wasn't too bad yet he said so bring it back when it is really bad. His words. :)
So on Saturday I replaced all 8 spark plugs, as the previous owner had it done at 200,000 km and I am now on 281,000.
When doing the 5th plug I noticed a crack in the ignition coil. So I pulled out the four I just did and checked them.
In total 3 coils have a crack, cylinder 1, 2 and 8.
I ordered 3x Bosch ignition coils and will install them when they arrive. Hopefully that will solve it.

Got the new roof rack mounted and wired. It was a rush job due to not much free time, but it'll work. The new alley lights are soooooo much brighter.

The built-in handles and ties down that run the length of the rack are brilliant... and the way you stepped down the front to accommodate the light bar follows the roof line better and looks like it could act as a fairing as well.

Very nice work. When do these go into production? :p
