Steering wheel controls!

I spent yesterday reading up on 100 series suspension. And now I'm looking for some feedback on ideas. My plans are to crank the torsion bars to level the front end, install fox shocks and a superior engineering diff drop and leave the back springs as is. For tires I'm not planning on going bigger than 285/70r17 on stock rims. Does this sound right? Anything I've missed or should also attend to? Didn't think this worthy of a new thread, just need a sounding board.

Btw this is on a 2005 hdj100r, will fox shocks cope with the weight of the diesel or will they have to be retuned?

Not positive on the HDJ. BUT make sure your rake is proper, I believe most 100 series are supposed to have 1.5". You said you wanted to level it but if I'm not mistaken you've still got to have rake.

Installed Slee 2nd battery tray and picked up second platinum battery ($180 sale at local Sears). Main bat is the 31M and aux batt is the 34 size. Would have liked if it can be switched around... It would be nice to have the 31M as the aux batt. Also installed new hood struts. Never knew hood opened up that wide!

Lost master key, turned house upside down, had locksmith make a second "Camry key" from my spare, wife found master key about 4 hrs later .

Patience is a virtue ... Never been so happy to see a cracked clamshell

Cleared all keys and re paired them as masters. Acquired an additional remote and paired. Now I have 5 master keys of which two are remotes.

Installed L-Track singles to my OS Drawers

Mounted SAT phone pelican case and small survival kit to passenger side of drawers back wall.

Completed FatMat Install

Tightened EMSPowered exhaust clamp for the 50th time

Completed key off charging links to iPad and Cell phone

Got one of these....

Bought a '99 100 to go with my '79 40. 10 minutes after buying it, I ran to Discount Tire and picked up some 285/75 r16 Duratracs. I'm glad most of the work is done on the 40, because my brother now works at Slee, and that's gonna be rough on the wallet.

(Red Taco is my brother's, gold is my dad's. I don't have that big of a car problem.)

Ordered an OEM radiator and fan bracket from Cruiser Dan to complete the OEM parts needed for my 100k maint / baseline. I also found a source for very nice high output alternators for the 2UZ. $449 for a 180 amp model that fits into factory mounts and uses factory wiring. 120amp idle output. I will be ordering one Tuesday and picking it up in a week. That's is the last PM item that I am combining with the OEM parts and the 100k maint. (easier to replace the alternator when the whole front of engine is out even the radiator.)

www.dcpowerinc.com is the source. Better specs than a mean green and they are 5 minutes from my house!

I will post a seperate thread on the alternator soon.

That's funny - when I bought my 100 last year I literally drove straight from the guy's house to Discount Tire 10 minutes away! :D

Is that a K5 Blazer in the back?

I'll be curious as to your success with the sunroof gasket replacement. Hard to find a shop in this part of the world that knows how to do it properly. Such a simple thing in theory became a PITA

I'm interested too... the previous owner got something messed up with the track so he just pulled the fuse so nobody would open it.... I guess that's a 'fix'? lol it would be nice to have a working sunroof...
Well, Mr. T doesn't sell the gasket that attaches to the glass, without selling the glass. As the gasket itself was deformed, and had a gap, there wasn't any way I could see to re-work it. So I had to get new glass... :frown::o Not cheap, but better than a leak...

Changed OEM torsion bars out for Sway Aways....

It is my dad's 1972 K5. His dad bought it new and died the same year. It was my dad's first car.
