It is my dad's 1972 K5. His dad bought it new and died the same year. It was my dad's first car.

The K5 Blazer is one of the coolest rides ever to come out of GM.

We were trying to figure out the other day the K designation? 4WD? But weren't there 2WD K5s?

I got new pin stripes today! Not the good kind though. I decided to follow my buddy in his Cherokee that is nothing but an off road vehicle. We basically were on overgrown four wheeler trails all day with some dryish creek crossing. He took a couple shots though.

^^ I can see what you haven't done to your 100 this week...... Fix that winch that quit working in Ouray!

Apparently, C was 2WD and K was 4WD. So you're correct.

Timing belt, water pump, tensioners, thermostat, radiator cap, rotors, pads, CV axles, Total Chaos upper control arms, Metal Tech offset links in the rear, rear sway bar bushing, and a full coolant flush...

Glad to be done!

You are allowed to do that stuff over time. Like when it's leaking or broken ;)

Had new tyres ut under the car: Mickey Thompsons ATZ 4-rib in 285/75/16.
And installed the new head unit with the Metra wiring. It worked! Until the battery died. :-(

I noticed in the pictures that your LX470 has the low beam on the inside. From memory my low beam is on the outside, the bigger lamps.

Daytime running lights run the highbeam at reduced output. His lights are switched to the OFF position in those pictures.

Just did a (2nd) base line on the rig-
Spark plugs, PCV (old one was stuck open), K&N air filter.
Full LED interior light bulb swap and front park lamps, and license plate.
Yakima basket with extension.
Spidertrax hub centric front (Slee exclusive) and rear hub centric 1 1/4" spacer.
Tundra Rockwarrior rims with 295/70/17 Nitto M/T's
Gorilla spline lugs.
Brembo front and rear rotors and Brembo pads.
Rebuilt the parking brake (old ones where frozen, from the bellcrank out) with OEM parts and new Raybestos (Japan version) pads.
Re-grease the front wheel bearing with mobile grease (since they where pulled)
Picked up some 2nd hand mint OEM Lexus mats for cheap.

Right before picking it up from a friend he did.
Ironman front bumper
Ironman suspension
Wheel bearings and all fluids (except transmission, which is running good).
Por15 the under side.

On the too do list.

Flush the brake fluid (possibly some SS lines also) and Toyota fluid, 2nd power steering flush.
2nd Radiator fluid flush and Toyota fluid.
Replace the two plastic heater "T"s
Waiting for the updated 4x4Lad DIY rear bumper.
On the hunt for used Husky mats.
LED reverse bulbs.
Kenwood head unit with rear camera and Sirius.
Cobra 75WXST Compact Remote Mount CB Radio
Firestick antenna and home made mount.
OEM Radiator cap (on order)

Where was that Aaron? I need more pinstripes! Still a few places where the paint is shiny.

White Knuckle Off Road Sliders arrived...I coated them with NoRust, threw on some flat black enamel paint and on they went...

Changed the fluid to Amsoil in my transfer case and front diff. Did a drain and fill with Amsoil on the transmission. The rear diff drain plug is stripped so I still have to do that. Greased the drive shaft while I was down there.

So I wanted to tow my friends jet skies and I noticed my tow hook said 5500 pounds capacity on which didn’t make any sense. Upon more inspection I found the epoxy they use to seal cracks after the car has been in body shop.
Yup, my car has been in an rear end accident before
Here is few pics, that’s sux
:crybaby: :bang:
