Where are you planning to mount this plate?

That's a good question. My general plan was/is to put it where the AHC res. would be and then rebuild/mount onto 2nd battery tray when I get around to that mod. I have thought about bringing it in the cab, but I don't love the locations. Unless I put it all the way in the back with storage system, but thats a long 2 gauge wire to run.

Any suggestions?

Properly washed and detailed the car for the first time since i got it almost 5 months ago. I decided to skip the polish for now, the paint already looked great post clay. I may polish the truck after the winter is over, i dont like to do my entire detail routine in 1 pass.
Meguiars Gold Class wash with 2 buckets (microfiber mitt)
Dried with Meguiars Quick Detailer and waffle weave
Clayed entire truck
Quick wax for front bumper

Is that one of those amazon racks? What size?

And great looking ride! :)

Finally got some snow in SoCal! Took Xena up Lake Arrowhead! Definitely, need to upgrade the tires soon, the LTX barely made it up.

Where can I find that adapter? That looks like a great option!

Hi! this is a commonly used cheap solution in Russia. It is called Yatour Digital Music Changer. The model is Yatour YT-M06 Toy2 6+6. (Адаптер Yatour YT-M06 Toy2 6+6 для магнитол Toyota / Lexus) I am pretty sure that there should be something similar in USA.

I didn't realize that was installed into the player, pretty ingenious. Cheap solution. to get usb, sd and 3.5 They're on amazon and ebay. It uses the same port as all the other usb/bt boxes.

Got a p0441 code. Cleared code and installed a brand new gas cap. One thing to note on the new cap vs the 240k mile cap is the cap gasket. On the old cap, the gasket was pretty hard and not at all pliable. The new cap gasket was nice and soft. You could easily conclude it would seal much better. Gas cap was $18.00 at dealer, for reference.

No reappearance of code.

Found five 200 series rims with good tires on CL and got them put on last weekend. Very happy with the results!

Rear wiper sag was annoying as all get out. I finally bought a wiper puller (the wiper was rusted to the shaft). Popped that sucker right off and reinstalled it.

Did a light cleaning of the undercarriage to get all the salt off. I was pleasantly surprised with the little amount of rust there was after dropping the skid plate and spare tire, just a little on the exhaust piping as usual. Cleaned the spare tire winch line and greased it and it’s running smoothly again. Remember to check your spare tire pressure! Nothing worse than getting a flat, pulling out your spare, and discovering it’s flat too.

what rear sway bar is this? thanks! clean rig!!

what rear sway bar is this? thanks! clean rig!!
Thanks! It's just the stock bar just painted red to give me an extra few hp:p A few years ago I removed the bar and realized I had major rust pitting on it and the holes that the links go through on each end were wallowed out, so I had them welded closed and then redrilled. I went over the whole thing with a wire brush to remove as much rust as I could and then primed and painted it that color. Nothing special.

  1. Oil change. While underneath, noticed front upper ball joint boots are both open and dry, so front suspension work coming soon.
  2. Replaced spark plugs. They looked pretty fresh, but now at least I know when they were last changed. I am a bit concerned about the reports of plugs getting loose so I set a calendar reminder to check them in a year.
  3. Replaced the cover to the cabin filter. This winter we had been getting cold air on passenger side footwell, and after pulling the glove box discovered a lot of cold air coming out around the little cover. that stopped when I pressed in on it. At the moment it is not really cold enough to tell if this has entirely fixed the problem. Threads on this issue point to several causes, none involve the little access door to the filters.
It sure was nice to have the truck raise itself up for the underneath work and then drop down low for the underhood work. I could get used to this! Wish my little bimmers could raise themselves up!

Installed some beautiful red recovery points by Trail Tailor (Thanks Jason). Also changed out plugs (Denso Iridium TT) and coils (Denso OEM). And then lastly, with the help of my cousin Eric (model in pictures) in Folsom, we swapped out the old ATF for Valvoline Max Life Synthetic ATF. We just took off all the skids and disconnected the line going into the tranny cooler. Started the engine long enough (10 seconds) for about 2 quarts to run out and then quickly pumped ATF back in through the dipstick. We did this until the fluid started running clean which was about 12 quarts. Eric was very impressed with how quiet and smooth the LC100 is with 280k + on the clock. Idle is amazing now and the shifts are like butter. Tranny is ready for another 50k interval. And next time I am in Sequoia pulling out firemen in their Ram power wagons (Hi Dave) I will have something better to hook my straps to than the OEM tie downs.

Edit: Cold start ups are now so much smoother and even slightly quicker (not Placebo).
