I went on the viper website, found the local distributors here in SoCal and the 3rd shop I called had enough for just what I needed. It’s pretty uncommon. They said $50, no warranty because they would not be able to replace, and because it’s ceramic it would take 2-3 weeks to dry completely. I didn’t roll down my front windows for 3 entire weeks. Once 3 weeks was up, I went back to have it tinted over with some 20% dark tint. Very happy with the results.

Thanks! I know it's hard to find. The one shop in my area (Norman, OKC Metro) that is listed on the Viper site does not have it.

the shop I got it at said they wouldn't be purchasing anymore because it is an outdated look.

Installed new shift indicator plate to replace my junkie old one. Also had my windows retinted in the front to match the stock mirror tint on the early 100’s. First Viper ceramic 30% tint. A couple weeks later a layer of 20% to match the rear. Lastly, had my fairlead powder coated black and installed a Factor 55 link.

Nice mods! It was hard for me to bite the bullet and pay $100+ for the shifter plate but what a difference a new one makes.

I also have Viper ceramic on my fronts and they matched the factory tint well. I wanted to tint over it like you did, but I was getting mixed responses when asking about tinting over tint. Thanks to your post, I'm going to get 20% all around now!

@trdcorolla this is the stock tint with the 30% viper ceramic to match on my buddies LC he recently did. Matches perfectly. He is now going to go back and retinted all windows with 20%

Got new key made and immobilized my vehicle waited 8 days for my AAA membership to kick in had it towed 80 miles to Toyota dealer to have a new master key made. Pick it back up tomorrow... everyday an adventure with this thing...

Noticed the forever known cat-shield rattle while warming up the truck the other day. I grabbed a couple of 4”-6” worm drive duct clamps and crawled under the truck and clamped the shields down. Now I don’t rattle. Easy 5 minute, zero  job without the tupperware shield in the way.

Where did you clamp on the cat-shields. I got some clamps on there, but still hear it. Gonna try moving them around this weekend.

I think the key is to tighten down the clamps as much as possible, pulling the shields together, preventing them from rattling. I believe the majority of the rattle comes from the shield joints, just behind the clamps.

Got the sliders on, and painted it a graphite color to match my tow hitch and front grill. Overcast and rainy day with an iphone camera doesn't make the cruiser very photogenic. Will try again Saturday when it's sunny, going to take her on a trail and test the sliders.

Which one's are those?

Which one's are those?

They're just some universal trail gear i rigged up. Total cost was $225, i measured, cut, and my friend welded it up for me. Since it's going to dub as "steps" so i had them stick out and sit a little flatter, gf would appreciate this. We tested it after wards by lifting the truck off the ground using the outer part of the slider as a lifting point and it didn't budge!

A buddy of mine and me went to town needle-scaling my girl's undercarriage, no more crusty bottom. Got into all the nooks and crannies that normally aren't tended to and got everything cleaned up! It wasn't as bad as I thought but I figured we'd get it done and he said she was very clean for a 19 year old truck in the northeast!

Followed up with a wire brush and Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer paint and will be Krowned next week! My ears are still ringing (even with earplugs) and I forgot to wear a mask while painting but it was worth it.

Also did an oil change in preparation for winter!
