So even though the OEM Land Cruiser horns are super awesome and definitely do not in any way sound like the horn on a Yamaha Moped, I decided to swap the horns out for something....uh..different. The horns on my Gf's 2013 GLK350 sound fantastic so I started my research there. The OEM horns for her GLK350 are Fiamm AM80S-R models (different years have different Fiamm or Bosch horns). While most Fiamm horns on production cars seem to be AM80S (no "R"). From everything that I read, the 'R' model is a few DB's louder. Nearly all of the different models for the GLK350 carry the same model number, so you have to know which one you are actually getting before you order. The Fiamms come in high/low pairs, in a number of different frequencies depending on which auto maker they are intended. All of the 'high' frequency models I found were listed as '500hz'. But the 'low' frequency models varied 385, 400, 405 and I think I also saw a 420 model. I went with two 'low' frequency models. A 405 (from a Chrysler product) and a 400 from a 2013 GLK 350 (no I didn't steal it from the GF's car, but I thought about it ). Now my horn sounds deep, loud and assertive. I only spent about $40 total and it has a nice OE like appearance. (Except that all I had was white wire).
Considering I've looked at the main odometer maybe two times in the last six months, timing was spot on this morning as i was dogging deer on the way to work

Good looking rig! I’m powder coating mine graphite, to match my grill and tow hitch which I also painted graphite gray. I thought about bronze but then it would clash and I’d have too many colors. I’ll post some pics if I get around to it today.

Went to Anza Borrego with my wife and our 1 yr old lab puppy, did some astronomy, back road travel, and inadvertent scorpion hunting. Plenty of desert pin-striping - they almost seem to reach out for you!
Had a great time - will return in January for another new moon.
Replaced my heater Ts and spark plugs this week. Both looked like they had many more miles to go on them. But at 100k miles I think it's logical to replace both of these things. The more I work on this truck the more I realize how well they were built.
These are the Ts and the two worst plugs I pulled. All came out easy enough, some requiring a bit more effort. To the best of my knowledge, they are original.
Built a heavy duty roof rack. 1.5”od tubing for exterior 1” od tube for inside all were 16 ga. steel. 1/4” plate for middle tie downs and mounting brackets. Planning on tapping plates so I can build some quick attach adapters for hi lift, kyaks and bike racks. Next step is to prime and bed liner.

I'd say you replace the Tee's and spark plug at near perfect time!
Key to tee's; replace before they're breaking up as one removes.
Key to spark plugs; is the gap, which widens with use. As the gaps widens plug will draw more current causing coil to run hotter. Heat is killer of the pricier coil. Look at your plug on the right, it shows signs of excess heat.
