I considered the new M1AP oil, but it was $45/5q vs $25/5q for the M1EP, which doesn't make sense when it's only rated for an extra 5k miles, so I'm sticking with the M1EP as long as possible.

I did not even check the price, although I figured it would be higher than the EP. I believe that by the time my next OCI is due it will be in broad distribution and the price will come down to earth. I certainly will not be paying $45 for it though, ouch.

LSeat leather and matching center console cover installed.

I added new shoes and some Tundra 2017 alloys. Tires are BF Goodrich 305-65/18 on the 18" Tundra wheels. These are a great size for the 100's if you ask me... roughly 33.5" x 12.5"

It has been a busy week.

And topped off the week with the Gamiviti rack that has been sitting in my garage for months!

Nice warm days in the valley mean lots of work to get done! Next is the IronMan suspension, Tundra rims (at powder coating) and new tires!

Tom

Looking GOOD! Can't wait to see the wheels and tires, what are you going to put on?

18" Tundra steel with holes. I like the old school look but my god do they weigh a ton. Luckily I am not looking for great performance!

I am up in the air on tires right now... leaning toward KO2s since they have good all around performance. Also considering Geolander AT-S because I had those on my 4Runner and loved them... and I love the look of the Duratrack but I worry that they might be loud

Installed the Fumoto oil drain valve (F-103N).

I did not realize such a thing existed. Consider this idea stolen!

Huge fan of Fumoto Valve's. I've had one on every vehicle I've owned the last 10 years. Only thing I hate about oil changes now is that damn 3rd gen 4R oil filter placement.

A hose clamp can also be used to secure the valve.

I just can't bring myself to trust the Fumoto valve. No documented failures that I've heard of just something I can't do.....anybody help calm my fears?

Your telling me you don't like reaching through your footwell, spilling warm oil all over your arm and undercarriage just to change the filter?

Im with you even if it was free. I dont see pulling the drain plug as an issue:meh:

Profile pic isn't taken from my driveway :flipoff2:

I would whole-heartedly agree, if I didn't have skids. The whole point was to avoid taking off two steel skid plates every time I change my oil.
This^ I had some heavy a$$ skids on my 4R and the fumoto valve makes it very easy to change without dropping the skids. I plan on having skids on my LX, so the fumoto valve is on.

It would be very hard to break off while off roading. So many lower hanging points and objects that you would hit before getting near the valve.

Yup, terrible design :)

Looks like a nice target to break off if you do any offroading.
As @DirtDawg mentioned earlier, there are mannny more lower hanging parts on your rig that would prevent any contact with the Fumoto valve that could potientially cause a breakage. As long as you have decent OEM skids or any aftermarket ones, you will have on chance of breaking that valve.

@LXColorado Do you have a lift and what tires are you running? Those will also increase your ground clearance and make it even less likely to break that valve.

new bi xenon from lightwerkz in new 06-07 depos. Extremely gratifying. One hour install, two hours aiming.

Just not wild about a spring loaded oil drain. I wish the whole thing was made from some 316 stainless.

This is coming from a mechanical engineer responsible for over 200 hydrocarbon pumping systems that all have spring loaded bearing housing drains..... :)

Exactly - I change the oil about once every six months, no biggie. Oil almost completely misses the Slee skid plate and I'd honestly never be comfortable with a spring-loaded valve hanging down - even if if was above the skid plate. Just adding unnecessary complexity to something for a convenience I don't need.

But if it works for others, no biggie to me.
