Well, the toughdog tourflex heavys are progressive so I think they are a dog of a different color. Jason has these on Esme. I described my build plan and my light load for daily usage and the heavier overland load he suggested these.
It made sense for me and look their red! :bounce2:
 
Threw in some new radiator hoses,thermostat, heater T's and heater hoses. Working on flushing the fluid now.
The thermostat from 1998 was still in there after 225k. Next is to replace the battery.

@DJCloz those lights look great.. did they come with in line resistors? Or did you have to add that separate? curious if it was all plug and play, or if you had to add something so they didn't fast blink.
 
@nakman it was plug and play. It re-uses the stock reverse and turn Signal Bulbs, but I swapped them out with some LED bulbs.
 
Finally, little interior design......all you need is foil to smash in to door pocket, sharpie to trace on to chip board, felt backed material and presto! Stuff sliding around in pocket was driving me nuts. Also got new cb and antenna for HIH in July.

Today I did some interior tear down work.

My cruiser came with a busted DVD tray, so I sourced a replacement unit and got down to disassembly. I will definitely document the reassembly once I get it sorted. Mind the coffee stains...

Here's the front drivers console area, with all of the plastic trim and console pieces removed:



There's quite a bit of space, and if you're good at fabrication and don't mind the delete option, I think it opens a few interesting possibilities for that center space.

I interested to see what ideas you have and construction approach you take. I have no love for the factory center console, however I don't know what my plan is and it's no where near then top of my list. Looking forward to seeing what you do.
 
I have no idea how to wire these all up. I'm searching for a guide. (hid from lightwerkz)

Went on a four day trip in the Ozarks of Arkansas, had an absolute blast. I was one of nine trucks on this trip: my 100, two 80's, two 40's, a Tacoma, a 4Runner, and two Jeeps. My 100 was loaded down, probably tipping the scales at close to 7k#, yet it handled everything effortlessly. I love this truck...

Somewhat simple looking crossing, but the opposite side was off-camber and very slick.

Results of a very slick, off-camber surface and a loaded truck that weighs in at approximtely 7k pounds. A gentle kiss resulting in a small dent. No biggie.
