Figured I'd share this with everyone since this isn't probably something a lot of us check. I recently developed a popping noise coming from the front passenger door as it would open or close. Took a closer look at it and it appeared the bolt that attached the door check arm (pn#68610-60051; pictured below) to the body of the truck was very loose...I mean loose to the point where the mounting foot was moving around and even scratching the door jam. Just a few turns with a 10mm wrench fixed it, it also helped to tighten the bolt in the process of opening & closing the door to make sure there isn't any unnecessary tension on that arm. A Phillips screwdriver will work as well. Went around to all doors and found those same bolts needed tightening so I did so. If you happen to notice that silver pin is damaged and may need replacement the pn for that is 68617-50010 and it's less than $3 while the entire arm can be over $100. No more popping!

I finally got around to installing the Slee primary upgrade battery tray that's been sitting in my garage for over a month now (this roughly translates to: I didn't go skiing this weekend) and a X2 Power group 31 dual purpose marine battery. This battery is monster compared to the group 35 Yellowtop it replaced. It weighs 75 lbs and damn near gave me a hernia when lowering it into the bay!

These batteries are made by Northstar and are made in the US.
Specs: 1150cca, 220 minute reserve and a 4 year warranty, AGM dual purpose (starting/deep cycle)

Eventually I will install a dual battery setup, but wanted to start with a bigger primary since I will be installing a 12,000 lbs winch and bull bar in the next month or two and I still need to rely on deep cycling for camping and general reliability in the backcountry.

I bought a cheap battery lug crimper from amazon. It's definitely made out of Chinesium and I did have to take it apart and bleed it because it had air in the chamber and didn't want to fully compress. After pulling it apart, greasing the o-rings and bleeding it, it worked like a champ. For what I paid, it was absolutely worth it and makes very nice, tight crimps.

What did you use/find that + y terminal cover?

Added some shade on the passenger side! Used Gamiviti's awesome awning hitch receivers! 3 spring pins and the awning comes off and stored in the garage until needed. First use will be at King of the Hammers in 3 weeks, who's going?

So I discovered a leak somewhere. After tearing apart the A pillar, headliner and sunroof assembly I found dried it all and waited paitently. Rained again today and I found water was coming in between the sunroof cutout in the body and the gasket I'm pretty sure right along the back edge in the middle.

For now I have sealed it with some 3M matte black vinyl along each edge to prevent more rain from coming in. It's easy to apply and removes with no residue. It wasn't ever much moisture, but enough to pool a few drops on the underside of the track at the edge.

Guessing I need a new sunroof gasket???

Wish I would have considered this battery over the interstate group 31. Looks like a nice fit for the Slee battery tray....oh well.

I bought a new gasket and have yet to install it. Hows that tape holding up at freeway speeds and with rain, if any? Ive used painters tape and hate the blue tape look on car, however its held up well at freeway speeds, crosswinds and rain.

White knuckle sliders.

Wow that matte black looks incredible!! Did you DIY it or have a shop do the work? Great work on the detailing job too:cheers:

Thanks! Did everything myself with Plastidip (below windows + hood). Did not spray running boards or front bumper. Credit to the $10 detailing job goes to Toyota of Redlands!

Using cans or did you buy a sprayer? I once tried to plastidip my roof on my old car to protect the paint from the sun, but it came out very uneven using cans.

Cans x7. Kept even distance throughout, used a spray can trigger and warmed cans in warm water to spray a finer mist. The sides turned out great, however if you look at the hood at certain angles, you can see stripping since it was much harder to spray.

Do you have the part number for the gasket?

It seems to be holding so far. I only get up to 60mph on the way to work though.

I'm about to install the slee primary tray I was lucky enough to win at HIH6. I've had good luck with the duracell agm batteries at sams club in other vehicles. I'm trying to decide if the X2 is worth twice the price. These are $180
