When I bought it a couple weeks ago I pulled the carpet mats out and vacuumed a few things out. My wife came out and was looking at it and commented at what good condition it was in. Then she said, "What I really like is that there are steps on it to help me get in." I was like, yeah those are coming off in ten minutes cause I've got a run with the club on Saturday. She wasn't real happy about that. She is also pretty short at 5'2". I'll get sliders she can use as a a step at some point but I've got other things to deal with first. With the baby on the way I don't know that I'll be off roading a ton in the next few months anyway and I'm okay with that. Super excited for the little camping buddy (its a boy!) since my wife has no interest in coming with me.

For those of you whose wives are short, pregnant or both... after you swap the running boards for sliders, consider putting a bit of grip tape on the sliders. They can be slick when wet. My wife is 5'9" and pretty agile (runner, etc.). Last week, as she was climbing in, her foot slipped on the slider and she smacked her face on the grab handle (I have no idea how she managed that part). I said "Well, they are sliders"... nope - saw no humor in that.

Good point. I really like the Rattle can bed liner for the sliders. I had mine PC'd which was likely a waste of money, but have touched them up multiple times now with the rattle can bed liner...it provides just enough grip so they aren't slippery, but they don't have a rough texture like a true bed liner or monstaliner would have.

You're either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid, but I laughed...

Are you running just brake lights on your ARB bumper? I noticed that noth lenses are red. Nice setup, BTW. Does that 42 gal main tank fit in the stock tank location? I didn't know that such a thing existed....

No the bumper lights are running lights, turn signals and brake lights, I had ARB send me red lenses to replace the amber ones otherwise I would have needed to do wiring mods to get the lights correct. The lights mounted on the drivers side spare tire are reverse lights that are hooked to the factory reverse light wiring.

Thanks!

Yes the 42 gallon main tank is a replacement for the stock tank, it is made by LRA. (Long Range Automotive in AU.) I was lucky enough to get the last unsold one left in the US from Outback Proven (Used to be the distributor for LRA for the US.) prior to them going out of business. Someone is supposed to pickup distribution of these tanks, but I don't know if that has happened yet.

Changed the #8 coil pack and arrived to my new tires today. :)

Had the charcoal canister/evap assembly replaced, it was gone and I had warning lights on the dash. While it was in, had the TB's adjusted for 1.25 inches of rake and an alignment since it's been about 1500 miles since I put in the Slee 2.5 medium kit in, adjusted the tire pressure and she rides pretty much the same as stock but a little firmer and more controlled. Also blacked out the badges on the rear and painted the rusty hitch. She's lookin pretty, ready for some off roading action!

Blacking out the badges really cleaned up the look.

Are you happy with the way the lift "settled-in"? ie would you do it again knowing what you now know?

Can we see a side shot to see the new rake / stance?

When it's in, I will try to post pics and as much info as I can. (My guess would be by the end of summer.) Where are you at in PA? I grew up in Delco.

Nice .. I'm in the lehigh valley, was in the king of Prussia area for 3 years. I work in Ardmore.

Any suggestions for good places to ride?

Cool. I worked in the KoP (Malvern) area for 6 years. Hmm, not sure near you, doesn't PA have a dedicated off road park now? I heard that's real good. I used to wheel the power line access roads in the LV / Pocono area and a bunch of fire trails in the Delco area. HTH.

Okay. Just making sure I'm not nuts because mine has brake/running and turn signals on the amber lenses. That's unfortunate that OP went out of business. I have a Kaymar telescoping work light that I got from them. Just curious, what did the tank run you? I have my reverse lights tapped into the work light and the rear rigid lights on the roof rack. Im going to run 3 way switches to each of those so that I can control them independently from the rear of the vehicle.

Haa, no you are not nuts, I called them and had them send me red lenses because the lights were not acting right when wired up straight off of the trailer connector per the manual. (I forget what was wrong.) I wish that I had one of those Kaymar lights or the discontinued ARB version. I paid $925 for the tank. (Yes I got a screaming deal.) I am planning to add switches or a wireless rf remote to the reverse lights but I have not gotten around to it. Once I flip the rack back over, now that I have the other swing-out, I will finalize the rear and side lighting and associated wiring.

Wow. Id hate to see the high side price... i have a front runner 45 gal aux tank, so 72 gal total capacity. with that id have an 87 gallon capacity! Oh, imagine that range with a diesel?! I just spliced into my reverse lights and it worked great. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

I am almost positive that when you use the supplied factory trailer connector y harness, the amber lights were acting as the brake lights too, like they would on a normal trailer. (4 wires, ground, running lights, left turn, right turn. The brakes lights are activated on this connector by turning on both turn signal wires steady.) How did you wire yours? Did you splice so that the correct lights would light up? When I called ARB asking why my amber lights were lighting up, they acknowledged that I wasn't the first to call with that issue, and they sent me free red lenses to replace the amber ones.

Yeah, for the reverse lights, I spliced in and removed the factory bulbs (since they are blocked.) and am running the LED's right off of the factory wiring. I think the list on that tank was $1275 plus shipping back when I was looking at them at Cruise Moab last year.

87 gallons would be crazy even with petrol. I considered that approach, but feel the space would be better used with a 20 gallon water tank and a 10 gallon air tank as well as a water pump and either a propane powered rear mounted water heater or a coolant heated one mounted up front and plumbed to the tank in the back.

I just noticed in your pic that you haven't lost the rubber trim pieces between that main rear bumper bar and the wings. You will. if you drag the bottom of your bumper anywhere, they will come off. I found mine on the trail a few times, but forgot to look for them after draggin my a$$ end one time. Nice looking rig BTW.
