Rear camp/reverse light installed on a custom made post. Bright as hell but need a diffused light, not the spot. It's good for highlighting a beam pattern some distance but I think one more diffused light would fill in the gaps.

FWIW, I saw this at a defense conference recently. Very simple & effective:

The idea is a standard automotive HID bulb in a simple nylon fabric enclosure. The enclosure is help inflated by a tiny air pump. They light is impressive, and I thought at the time it would be simple to rig something like this for expedition rigs.

So that's what they're using on the 405. Those things are crazy bright.

Bought these off of Craigslist at about a 25% discount off the cheapest price I could find. Cash deal. No shipping and no sales tax. They are exactly the size and load range I was looking for. Score!

Last week I purchased the Hundy after 8 months of looking for the right one. She's a 2001 with 68k on the clock.

So far this week I have replaced the stereo with a Pioneer head unit with iPhone integration, added a backup camera, added WeatherTech Floor Liners front and middle that I purchased from Slee, and finally replaced the LTX tires with Hankook Dynapro ATM in 265/75R16. So far I am really happy with it.

I had been driving a Land Rover Discovery for 18 years and it was a little sad to see her go but I won't miss the leaking oil and quirky electrical issues. It was an amazing truck off-road but was maintenance heavy to say the least.

Nice! I added a girl last week too. Your pic reminded me of when we took Jake on the trail when he was only about 6 weeks!

Ordered 17" kmc rockstar flat black wheels to be wrapped in 33" duratracs!! Pretty penny) but so excited!

Bolted more crap to the roof.

I see you found out that flipping the mount will drop the awning another 2". From the already 2.5" drop over factory awing mounts.

With the Foxwing in that low the front door will touch the wing.

You should be able keep the mounts flipped and raise the awning so they are flush.

The ARB awning has alittle more internal support so it clears the doors in the lowest position. But I'm going to raise it up some for more headroom.

congrats!!!! that tailgate is nice....we travel in my 100 and not my wife's 4runner for that reason!

My wife even made the comment that the tailgate was at the perfect height.

DuraTrac 275/70/18 - really love these 33" shoes!!

Powerslot slotted (not drilled) Rotors AND new Calipers (made by Centric who makes PowerSlot and StopTech) ) on all 4 corners. I had a few caliper sticking issues over the past 3 years, so started fresh.

HID headlight went out after 2 years so replaced both bulbs from DTM tuning

Yes, also had bearings packed, which added $50 in parts.

NICE!!! Need!!!

New starter and oil change. Hopefully this fixes the dead start issues. Mechanic said it looked like the original. That would be crazy since I have 196k miles.

I ran out of time before my upcoming trip so I had fellow Mudder and service manager at RPM Autocenter in Irwindale, Steve Lam and his team do a ton of work for me the last two days. :

Full 90k Service 2k miles past due and 6 years late, including timing and serpentine belts, tensioners, pulleys, cam and crank seals, engine coolant, water pump, thermostat, gaskets, radiator cap etc.

Also had them
Repack front wheel bearings
Replace front rotors with Power Stops
Replaced front pads with Ceramic Power Stops
Bleed and replaced all brake fluid

While they were at it I had them fix some minor annoyances like a stuck and broken sway bar bolt (Haven't had a rear sway bar since I installed the first lift a year ago) and replaced the Parking brake (first time it's worked since I've owned the truck.

Great work, communication and pricing. IF you're in the LA area and need work done on your 100, I highly recommend Steve and his team. Also, thanks to Cdan for the parts.

Still have a few wiring things to do before a trip on thursday, but I feel a lot better getting all that out of the way.

my 96 4runner did 240,000 miles when the starter was giving me some trouble. $3 to replace the copper contacts and it went right back on the truck.

I bought my hundy last week. After I got it home I took her on a familiar trail so I could get a feel for her. I love it! tomorrow I should be mounting my 285/75/16's duratracs.

guess I owe some pics aye

Crappy phone pic but, here is the stable.

With my "new" 2000 UZJ 128,000 on the clock and I am the second owner :D. I bought the her from the dealership that it was originally purchased from and had every service performed at.
