I bought all new bolts and nuts with my rear control arms, because I didn't know what kind of shape they'd be in when I got them out. So far they've looked only moderately rusty, ha.
Mine are all going to be rusted out, I just know it (21 years on salted roads).

Thanks for this, didn't know you could buy those brackets but should have realised everything is available!

I'll probably do this in slower time! For now I need to make sure the car is going in a straight line and the wheels don't fall off :D

Ugh, softener salt. Don't ever let those bags spill!

"bin lorry" - For some reason that reminds me of a John Cleese/Monty Python skit about delivery trucks...I actually like the little language differences we have.

I can't imagine what driving a big land cruiser around London would be like though...
I am not native EN speaker but in school or casual conversations, I have never heard. "bin lorry" 😀

It's like the "waste paper dust bin" 😁

But you know guys, similar with Swiss German and German, or Bavarian German or Austrian German...Swiss French and French French...

language is being discovered 👍 and is really amusing sometimes

Happen to have any photos? My rigs parked outside 100% of the time too granted not in Texas heat but curious how a grey or black might look to cover up so much beige.
See below:

Got some Escape Gear seat covers installed for all three rows and put in a ben3dbuild cup holder in, much better improvement. Also have his SS3 DD fog light buckets but did not have the funds to splurge on some lights so that’s on the back burner while the FJ62 gets some more attention

Are these the black or charcoal ones? I'm curious to know what you think of the material and quality :) thanks

Fixed something that was annoying me for a while. The clip that holds the 3rd row belt broke, removed the leftover plastic that was very glued and held with plastic weld, wear gloves! Guess why I say that..

Got some clips, can't remember where I got them from, built a stencil and made some holes in the plastic

New, improved, and most important, can be replaced when they break

Ooo! Where'd you get those clips? Wonder if they come in gray...

I found a new development/ possible issue…

A couple of years ago, I installed Japan 4x4 AHC strut spacers when I did a moderate sensor lift on my 2002 LX470.
And I must say, the AHC spacers did return the ride quality to factory plush… they got rid of some slight suspension cycling harshness.

Today, I find that the upper control arms have made contact with the AHC strut dust shrouds. The dust shrouds are dented ( not too badly) and the upper control arms are marked from the contact.

It seems that at full droop with the AHC spacers, these 2 parts meet each other. I never considered that, even knowing that the shocks are the downward limiting factor. Currently, with the added length of the AHC spacers, I apparently have more down travel than was intended by Mr. T.

The truck drives just fine… AHC suspension works great… but I feel foolish having just discovered this.
Look at the angle of the upper ball joint at full droop. All ball joints are tight, no play, but I have all 4 new boots to install.

So… do I let it ride, and reboot the ball joints? Or do I remove the front AHC spacers and return the front end to factory down travel?

I searched, and I was not able to find any information on this AHC spacer issue.

Had a good weather day today and decided to tackle the driver side lower ball joint that's been squeaking bad lately. I didn't want to mess with the AutoZone ball joint press so I had an idea to try and use the axle nut socket instead. And it fits absolutely perfectly over the ball joint.

I didn't have a photo of the 555 ball joint but it fit just as well.

I setup the bottle jack under the ball joint and tapped the lower control arm down onto the ball joint.

I might have missed a few times haha

Received the first 3 out of the 5 shipments from Japan today, packaging left quite a lot to be desired as I now need to straighten the two little brackets on the front upper control arms but very glad I went for OEM still. My saint of a wife also agreed that safety comes first so in an attempt to go bankrupt quicker I've bought some garage bits such as a new trolley jack, stands and most importantly - an impact wrench.

Hoping to sort front UCA & LCA, discs, pads and bearings in a weekend in two weeks but that may be optimistic. My main priority will be the bearings as they aren't happy at all.

If you don't hear from me again, it's because the bank repossessed our home for unpaid bills due to OEM purchases.
