Ok team - been putting off asking this b/c its embarrassing by comparison to the majority of accomplishments on the string...but I'm stuck. IMHO this is possibly the most legit sticker I've ever owned. The dilemma - I'm a 'sticker on the roofbox' guy, not a 'sticker on the vehicle' guy (no judgement). That being said - I think this one warrants placement on the vehicle, to be followed by the 300k sticker. I'm thinking rear quarter panel or back hatch glass. Consider the suggestion box open!

HMC member here and sticker averse as well.

My 300k sticker is on the rear hatch glass, as far down and left as possible.

Changed the spark plugs. Last record of a change I had was at 90k… I have 278k on her right now. Half of the coil shafts had hairline cracks in them so I guess I’ll buy some new ones to have on standby. Missing 2 plugs in the picture because my gremlins ran off with them. Also one of the plugs was different than the rest go figure.

I always do glass. That way if I don’t like it, it comes off fairly easily. I’m in the same boat as you. I don’t do stickers if I don’t have to. I’d do glass. Then scrape and replace with your 300k one later!
always put them on the back glass on the inside. That way when you scrape them off you can scrape off the defroster lines too! 😜😭

  • Sandblasted and remediated rust around the windshield frame
  • replaced the windshield
  • replaced remaining stock coils w/ new densos
  • patched previous refurb plugs on the evap charcoal canister with PC11 plastic weld (previous glue did not hold).
  • tossed in a new bigger battery from interstate
  • and changed the oil

She's ready for the road again.

When you get tired of playing with the glue on the canister, try replacing with the 2000 Tundra canister. It’s basically the same except the mounting bolts are in a different place. The locking slide on the firewall is the same. So that plus a heavy duty zip tie did the trick. It’s been working like a charm.

Part number or it didn't happen. 😀

No such thing as too much weight for AHC. I am still using the AHC specific torsion bars and non-AHC rear springs with Ironman bullbar, ARB rear steel bumper with dual swing outs with 35" tires mounted, WKOR sliders, steel/aluminum belly plates, 40G LRA gas tank, ARB drawer, full length steel Gamivity rack, dual battery setup with onboard air and other stuff and AHC doesn't even blink an eye!
Well if that isn't a raining endorsement I don't know what is. Thank you for this. Do you know if i can co after market upper control arms with AHC?

I found a pretty good deal on a 2006 LX that had AHC deleted but from research I think I want one that has not had it deleted. I have read really good things about how robust, comfortable and nice it is to have it. And just like anything else it has to be properly maintained and it will work forever. So yeah, I want one that has the AHC.
Not a bad choice..

Replaced the front differential bushing, can’t believe this little thing reduced so much of the driveline clunk. If you got a lift and air chisel this is a 10 minute job.

Next up I gotta replace the axles and hub flange, dreading that job

CVs and drive flanges aren't bad at all. Just make sure you order all of the parts you might need, like diff seals, cone washers, nuts, studs, and seal for the flange, CV c-clips variety pack, etc. Also having a good set of clip pliers will help.

Yes - as long as they have the mounting tabs for the height sensors. Curious why you want after market UCAs tho?

Thanks for this. I'm getting over the loss gradually. I wouldn't have thought I would be so attached to a car but this 80 I built up and it's provided me with amazing experiences. I agree with everything you've said regarding the 100 even though I've never owned one. But I see all that it's capable of doing with amazing comfort.
Just went to a 2004 100 from the best setup for a daily driver 80. It had a new suspension with variable stock height springs and all new OEM bushings, New tie rods, new steering box.

The 100 is so much easier to drive. I jump in it every time. The 80 sat most of the time 😢

I dont like visible stickers very much. I put them on the tailgate where the two parts come together. That way when the tailgate is open you can see them and cant when its closed. Hopefully that makes sense.
