Her paint doesn't pop as easily as it used to but got her all washed up and installed the cell booster that has been sitting my garage since thanksgiving last year.

Hell yea! I’ve been waiting for an update on your thread! Congrats man, that’s gotta feel goodTurned it back in to a 5-speed again![]()
Cool, so you have owned both 80 and 100 series. Tell me why I should switch from the 80 to the 100. My 80 was stolen last month and I am deciding what to purchase next.6'-5". No mods. I find it comfortable enough once I squeeze in. Not as spacious and comfy as my Tundra but not terrible. The three 80-series I've owned I have found a bit tight for sure but still daily drove one for 8 years up until 2017. The Tundra has spoiled me big time.
Apparently he was searching for 200s and memorizing the thesaurus while his Gerry was downI'm still trepidatious, but happy to have improvement.

That's the biggest word I'll use the rest of the year.Apparently he was searching for 200s and memorizing the thesaurus while his Gerry was down

Glad to see you win this one!
I've always directed people deciding on what to get to the 100 because it can do almost everything the 80 can do but with a lot more comfort and power. But I was an 80 series owner then. My use case is driving from MN to out west running some pretty challenging trails...enough where I would have to use the lockers...but knowing that I couldn't beat it too much because I had to make it back too. Mine was a Collector's Edition 3X locked and yeah, it was super capable with a slight lift and 33s. It was in really good shape but it was a good mix of using it for what it is capable of and taking good care of it.V8.
I'm going to make a wild and very possibly inaccurate assumption that if your 80 was stolen, it's probably in much nicer shape than one where you've utilized the straight front axle beyond the capability of the 100's IFS.
Or to say, the 100 is better unless you're really doing some heavy wheeling.
That's the biggest word I'll use the rest of the year.
I think the 100 can do everything the 80 can do, only better. Until you get to trails with a high probability of body damage. Then the 80 may be better. I personally always plan on driving home, so I wouldn’t take those trails even in an 80.V8.

Daily driver or 2nd vehicle/toy?Cool, so you have owned both 80 and 100 series. Tell me why I should switch from the 80 to the 100. My 80 was stolen last month and I am deciding what to purchase next.![]()
It was my daily. I took it on multiple trips out west from MN putting on about 3K+ miles on every trip while going on some pretty cool trails like Tin Cup Pass, Ophir, Imogene, way up in the Colorado Flattops, Rimrocker, etc...It handled everything so well.Daily driver or 2nd vehicle/toy?
Nice! If I find a nice 2006/07 100 or LX470 I might go that route. I am in MN and there are barely any here even to test drive let alone buy....there has to be NO rust on anything I purchase. But I would like to test one to see...that might be the tipping point on my decisionI think the 100 can do everything the 80 can do, only better. I’ve wheeled with 40s, 60s, 73s, 80s and 200s, and they’ve all been impressed with what a 100 can do.
are the stock headlights kinda crap?Working on a MicroD2S projector retrofit! Custom designed and 3D printed some tail caps to keep everything watertight. Excited to have excellent headlights on the LX!

Which side window(s) is that? Finally got around to cutting up the rear-most dissent skid plate to accommodate the long range tank, we'll see if the ~1/2" of clearance is sufficient or more is needed:

Starting to think about the interior build-out. Riveted in some velcro panels for seat-back and rear storage:

Just ordered headlights and been talking to Lou to do the same micro d2s retro. What bulbs/ballasts are you going to run? Any chance you'd been willing to sell me a set of those 3dp caps? They look great!Working on a MicroD2S projector retrofit! Custom designed and 3D printed some tail caps to keep everything watertight. Excited to have excellent headlights on the LX!
