Blew my front differential this weekend.

Sorry Nick. Welcome to the blown diff club. Actually, surprised it didn't happen to you sooner with how you drive your truck.

Bolted up a TJM T13 (still need to wire up the lights, raise the front end 0.5 inch, and get an alignment)

Lowered the Slee Jerry Can Rack to use some space above. Needed to drill and tap the swing out for the lower bracket. Space above will be for power tank bracket to hold 11# propane tank.

Visible brake lights and turn signals optional lol. That's a very beautiful setup btw. Jealous.

@cyboyd, can you write up how you installed the rear back up camera on the swing out? I have the Slee adaptor for the tire carrier but have thought of relocating to the lower CB/light mount so it's not blocked by the trasharoo.

It was easy, I just followed the same route of the license plate LED wiring up under the truck. Then when up into the body where near where the rear AC lines come. then along the door sills up to the glovebox and in. I paralleled a the 4GA wire basically the same route.

Did a bit of work with my on board air. Grabbed some solenoids of eBay and set it up so I can fill and empty the suspension air bags with a flick of a switch. Mounted a gauge for each side and one that shows air compressor pressure, and an air pressure outlet. Can also control it all from the drivers seat ;) Hides away quite nicely once the draws are pushed back in.

After owning for a year, I am starting to need things shaped up/repaired. Today I had new rotors and pads for the rear brakes done. I believe these were original, so it was time. New air filter installed and oil and filter changed. The next thing I need to take care of is there is an oil leak 'somewhere'. Need to clean the whole area around the timing belt (where the oil has sprayed) so we can figure out where it is coming from. Let's hope it is not serious. Timing belt not 'due' to be changed, but one never knows, so have to be prepared.

Enjoying reading all of the posts. It helps me sort things out and get ideas. I have finally started a list going of the little things to do, in some sort of 'priority/need' and some that would be 'nice' (like replacing the antennae).

Cheers!

Nothing big, but I had some window tint put on in time for the summer. Hopefully it'll help with the furnace effect.

2nd row window has the tint on already, 3rd row window does not. Shows the difference. I went for a 15% tint, enough to really keep things cool but hopefully not so dark that I'll be pulled over.

Very interested to see how that comes out. Please post up pics of what it looks like afterwards and especially what the front windows look like compared to the rest.

I have an 03 with the bronze so I'm excited to see the outcome.

I accomplished another life changing mod today. Being tall and long legged, I have found the depth of the seat and lack of adjustability a constant annoyance in the year I've owned this otherwise lovely vehicle. I fabled up some brackets and devised a way to add about an inch and a half of height to the front seat mounts. It's SO much more comfortable now. More thigh support, the seat feels deeper and I'm actually able to adjust things in a way that I'm comfortable. w00t!

Oftpiste.....got some pics on the mounts you made.
It's not super pretty, but I'll grab a pic later. Two short steel brackets, one end bolted to the seat, the other with a 1.5 inch spacer under it for the height increase, and a new, longer bolt through the spacer and into the floor.

I spotted a black earlier year LX at big creek park in Roswell on Saturday. Had a mud sticker and I'm pretty sure I've seen pics of it here before. Who was it??

Replaced both rear rotors with stoptech. Also replaced pads with ebc yellow stuff pads. Found a rear axle seal leak.

Also purchased new wheel bearing and new rotors and pads for the front. Just need to order my new from cv axle and I will be good to go for starting work on the front.

Pulled a 6,200 lb. travel trailer from Birmingham, AL to Millen, GA (335 Miles) It's a 99 with 154k and never been off road or towed anything.Took my time and let the LC do the work. Did a great job and got about 8.5 miles per gallon. Never stressed it and proud of the results. Except the mileage. Living at my new temporary home and working at a big plant construction site and living in a Georgia State Park. What a life. Lots of fish, alligators and little bugs.

Update: Well after sinking my Hundy in a creek 2weeks ago and sucking water into my intake and engine block, I finally heard back and the engine did NOT seize! I was amazed and it even surprised everyone working at the dealership. They flushed all the fluids, changed my oil about 3 times, differential, power steering, brake, etc...They started her and when the pistons went in their upstroke it expelled even more water out of the engine block and intake then stalled. They continued drying her and started it again and she ran perfectly! No abnormal sounds indicating bent pistons or rods and she purred smoothly just under 1000rpms. After letting her run for about 4min they cut it off and checked the engine control module to see if she still had her brain and miraculously it did! They will continue drying and flushing as much water out as they can and I should be able to bring her home next week. Just proves how much of a beast Cruisers really are!!

The photos below show how the day WAS going - crossing a few creeks, taking a couple pics, and showing off my wheel travel - and how it ended up after hitting a patch of sand on the edge of the creek and it sliding out from under me bringing the car down into deeper water.
