This seems pretty straight forward, but could you elaborate a bit? I've been putting off doing this to my Tundra for far too long. Got about 35 bucks worth of stuff in my amazon cart, want to make sure I got it all

I had mine mounted like that, but hated that I couldn't reach any of the HVAC controls. I bought a cut to fit 18" arm I am working of mounting how I like now.

Its pretty straight forward, all you’re doing is removing the fine layer of oxidation on the top. I’ve started on plastic lenses with as low as 600 before and worked my way to 3000 and then 0000 steel wool. I would recommend finishing off with a 2K clear coat
Blew out my stock speakers, so I dropped in some Alpine S-S65C and S-S65 in the front and rear doors. Was thinking going to a 4 ohm speaker wasn’t going to be loud enough but it’s fine, just a bit lower. Holes on the stock rings and Alpine adapter rings don’t line up, but a Number 10x 3/4” construction screw will self-thread into the stock plastic rings just right. Metra Toyota adapter plugs were helpful too.
Different clear coat than the 3m headlight restore? Will the 5000 grit paper do the same as 0000 steel wool?
Also what's a good way to put the paper to the light, something that is soft seems beat, not like a usual sand paper backer?
Ya, I understand. I don't mind covering up the HVAC controls since I mostly just set them on auto and forget them but I may play with extensions to get a good height. It may take a while for me to train my hand to not hit the tablet when reaching for the shifter though.
The reason I wanted to move the tablet mount down into the cabin and off the dash is that the tablet can overheat in the summer months with it up there. By placing it in front of the vents, I'm hoping that will alleviate the problem. The only downside with using the change holder as a mount is flexibility of movement. In fact, the first thing I did after installing it over the weekend is look for a RAM flex-arm but the shortest one they had is 18". If they had one 12" or so, that might be perfect so the tablet mount can be easily moved out of the way. Regardless, if it doesn't work out, I'll probably move to a seat mount w/ flex-arm if I find it cumbersome and use the ball mount for my phone.
I have to say that @Romer had an excellent suggestion when he posted his 200 setup a couple years ago - get a wifi-only tablet that has built-in support for A-GPS and GLONASS and run a bluetooth connection to your cell-phone if you need cell phone access. Plus, Expedition Utah has sponsored a few Gaia GPS app classes so that's been a big assist.

I've been meaning to do that, it looks really good. Do you think install would be easier with the wheel removed? I need to take it off for another reason, so I might do the wrap with the wheel off.
I use this guys method and it has worked great and he shows it from start to finish. Lasted about 18 months on my wife's Sienna before I had to redo them.

I've tried clear vinyl wrap (with UV protection) instead of the clear coat spray and it has been holding up pretty good. Supposedly, the film allows for better optical clarity but I dunno.... likely depends on the quality of the paint and paint job.

I've never used a 2k clear on lights but the clear they give in the kit is garbage. Most of them are wipe on. It never goes on smooth, it chips, it yellows You're better off just sealing the lenses with a sealant, coating, or wax and just repolishing them annually. The film is a great option as well.
Get the headlight protection kit from XPEL. Easiest thing you can do, it’s pre-cut so even if you’ve never installed PPF before, all you need is a bottle with soap and a squeegee. 100 series lights are flat shaped so install should take you a minute. Wax/sealant/ceramic coating is just a band aid and will need constant care and re-application. PPF will last you 5-10+ years with little to no care besides washing the film when you wash the rest of the vehicle.
What type of sealant? Is carnuba wax good enough or should I go with the 2k clear?

Yes, definitely easier to wrap if steering wheel is removed. But I don't know how complicated removing it.
Btw, cover is bit over size around 4 spokes. I had to trim and made a bit of a mess because stitch pattern is different. But it's behind and not that visible.
Wax is fine if you stay on top of it. Carnuba will be the shortest-lived you could use. There are also chemical/polymer sealants or ceramix coatings that will last much longer.
I have a very small leak in the same place. I have always been weary of leak stop products. I would be curious to see how it goes for you. Good luck!
