What did you do with your truck today?

The 80 springs are side specific, as one side is heavier with the gas tank. If you put the springs on the wrong side you get a bit of lean. Not sure of the 4Runner, since the gas tank is in a different spot

Made a little more progress today. Axle under the truck. Brake lines installed and connected. Control arms, panhard bar & driveshaft bolted up. Springs installed.

Family time and football kept me from getting as far as I wanted. But, it was worth it.

I still need to source the multi-conductor cables needed to make the wiring harness. I also decided to replace the shock bushings, so I'll get those on order too. I'm going to take my brakes apart, clean up & check the hardware and re-install. I've had some rear brake issues since I replaced the shoes a few months ago. I hope this will correct the problem.

The red paint on the locker motor was a joke that stuck. I'm considering a skid to mount on it for extra protection and to hide the flashiness.

I believe there's a lot more to doing a SAS! Money being the primary "a lot more".

That elocker skid only comes in RED.

:bang: I noticed that on the Marlin website. I guess I'll have to go w/ a different brand or scuff and paint.

Well I have been wrestling a disc brake conversion. Ted brought me the caliper brackets at the annual that they had made. So far I have got the passenger side mocked up. Hope to have it wrapped up this weekend. I am also installing TWO line locks; one on the front brakes and one on the rear. That should keep it in place on any hill. If you are wonder I used front rotors, calipers and pads off an 87 4 Runner. Little shimming is involved to get the caliper centered but not a big deal. Plus all four corners have the same type of set up.

What I have done so far.

I'm considering a similar setup, Rocky! Let me know how it works out.

I thought you were selling that thang. I'll be interested to hear how you like the rear discs - Ted didn't seem terribly impressed when I asked him about his. Did you change the master cylinder? If so, what'd you go with?

Got started on my OBA set up. The tank is repurposed and mounted under the driver. So far only one quick connect on the hitch receiver, need to put one up front too. Still need to wire and plumb in the actual compressor.

is that on an 80 series? I've got to get motivated and get mine installed too, in my case FJ60 is the victim, I've been looking around for what others have done. Tank location and compressor location are key elements. I have a electronic compressor and I'm not going to put it under the hood.

Yes, it's an 80. If the spare tire was out from under the truck, I would have put the tank there, but I'm happy with where it ended up, easy to access. And I'm going the York route so I'm no help on compressor placemet.

I wrapped up the rear axle tonight. Brakes are done and everything is torqued. All 4 tires are on the ground for now. Tomorrow, I'll start the front diff swap.

Brakes are so clean.

And my new ride came in last week. I'm still waiting for the shop to get it upfitted. I believe ACDC will need to christen the radio on its maiden voyage.

I'm up for a challenge, Rocky. I won't be responsible for what happens after.
