Slee Step Sliders went on this morning. I had to remove the front mud guards in order to install them. I like that they don't stick out on the sides yet still provide ample platform to step on and protect the rocker.

Clean looking rig. Congrats:clap:

The more I think about it, the more likely I need a shop to do it for me. I hope Jim Dikey is still in business. He would be the closest one to me.

Slee has a great set of instructions for installing a lift on an 80, take a look and decide if you want to take it on. With the right equipment and an extra set of hands for flexing out the axles to get the springs in and out, it's not a bad job really.

Would this be the problem I have then?

"7. IMPORTANT. In the US, with left hand drive vehicles, if the springs are labeled DS and PS, we install the DS (Driver Side) springs on the PS (Passenger Side) and visa versa. The springs are labeled for the right hand drive vehicles. If you can not locate the labels, or you have used springs, make sure you mark the springs that you remove from your vehicle and match long with the long and the short with the short springs."

My DS sits at 20" and PS at 21" as well as the rest of them.

Either that, or you're fat.

If you've got a lean on the rear, and the taller spring is on the taller side, swap the rear springs and it should level you. Once you've done the install once, it's not a huge deal to pull the rear springs and swap them side to side.

Finally installed my awning light kit from @LandCruiserPhil
Used leftover led lights to do the rear hatch:beer:

I am usually more worried about having the shop doing it. Only thing that may need a shop is the bushings.

Personally I don't know of anyone or shop would loosing and retorque control arms. As with a lot of things on an old car, don't fix what ain't broken. Unless of course you are going to change out bushings or change to landtank control arms like I'm contemplating on.

The rear is leveled at 21" both sides. Same as PS.

Maybe one of these days I'll drive up there to meet the SFV gang and see what you guys think about the car or my paranoia (Joey's fault re OCD).

Come on over, but be warned that people generally leave with a bigger list of "things to do".
