Took the 11yo wheeling today at the local OHV park as a part of his "day with dad". Went through a puddle that was much deeper than I thought and a wave crested the hood. Truck started to lug and struggle and I got a CEL. After opening the air box the CEL went away and the truck smoothed out and was drive able again.

Now I have a clicking in the front driver-side knuckle, not sure what's causing that.

Mud and water in the knuckle?

that's my guess. looks like I'll be tearing into it tomorrow. it sounds suspiciously like a birf chirp as it only happens under load and when turning.

That's the first thing I'd be doing...

Took a short trip to Johnson Valley with some J#%$ buddies of mine. Got about 50' into Cakewalk/Bullfrog trail and had to back out with my tail between my legs! Land Cruisers lacking armor are not designed for that place. Pure carnage as far as the eye can see! I got seriously schooled by a couple of CJ5's and didn't have the balls to take a pic!

If I had a Heep I wouldn't give two s***s about breaking it. In fact, I'd hope it would break so I could throw the piece of s*** away. Nothing wrong with wanting to keep your 80 nice. There is plenty of off roading that can be done without beating the s*** out of your rig.

Was your Jeep made in Texas?

It's time to get some sliders for sure! If I had sliders I could have gone through those trails with no damage, but the ol girl was too fat to squeeze through a couple sections without ripping my "prized" running boards off!

Sliders should be there first armor that anyone that is going to play in the rocks buys.

Here you go! Already christened the new tires in the mud.

This lift is an immense improvement over the old, tired suspension. I drove the truck on the old wheels and tires and it felt so much better. More stable but soaked up the bumps very well. Even my wife commented on how much better it felt.

Looks great! I like the look of those steelies with the maxxs.

After almost a year outside because of the lift, a buddy asked if I ever measured the other side of the garage. Sure enough one garage door opening was 1.5" taller than the other!

The truck now fits in the garage and I am beyond ecstatic. Now the new leather will never have to see the sun again.

The truck clears the opening by 1/4"
That's great! I did the same thing with mine, adjusted the opener to get all I could then slowly inched in the garage and voila, it fit

Hit some trails in the saddleback mountains near where I live. Some pretty technical runs. I joined up with a couple of jeeps with all the gear (lifted, running 37's, lockers, winches). I matched them mile for mile so was happy. They were shocked what a stock LC could do. Mind you I think I was boxing above my weight a little and have put sliders and a moderate lift at the top of my new years list.

Don't put too much air in your tires...
