Yeah, no weird vibrations at all (yet) and the steering doesn't wander at all. I let go of the wheel at several different speeds to test it and no drifting, drives super straight. In addition to the castor bushings, I ordered a new set of sway bar bushings for the front and rear from Beno...any other specific bushings you would recommend I replace while in there?
The OME caster bushings will def. help! It will increase the caster angle which will make your LC easier to drive and will improve its directional stability (reducing its tendency to wander).

No need to kill a castor for it :P

How did your Duratracs do, and how do you like them in general?
I really like them a lot. They did really well. I had KM2's on my previous rig and all around I like these better. I do wish the had heavier/better side walls though.

took mine out for some exercise after being locked up in the garage for a few months

Looks like fun! Gotta ask, what kind of sliders do you have on there? Seems like they've seen some abuse!

@Aloha Jen, the front two bushings on each arm are replaced with the ome bushings you have. It doesn't hurt to refresh the back one on each arm with a new OEM. If I recall, they were fairly inexpensive.

metaltech sliders. yes, they have been beaten a lot. the one in the pic is pushed up far enough that the doors have to be forced open over the tube. dont have to worry about the doors closing on anyone when im on an incline lol

Impressive... I can only imagine what it takes to make that slider look like that. I thought those things were practically indestructible from reading here on the forums

its definitely not the slider's fault lol. by the time that one got bent to that point i was ready to quit beating that ledge. was pretty rough hitting that hard repeatedly.
Make sure you get all the mud off of those rails and brackets.

Finished switching out the old suspension with new springs and shocks all around. Went with the 2850's in front and 2860's in back.

This was a pretty big job....which seemed way easier when reading how to do it, but ended up being a bit more challenging. Full disclosure on my part....was that my involvement on this job was really only about 10% on the wrenching side, not counting researching/finding all the applicable write ups to get the job done. The bulk of the work was done by my new live-in mechanic, aka my husband who seems to be getting sucked in to more and more of these diy jobs! But after finding it impossible to get off the top shock nut on the DS, I knew I needed help. So the bulk of my duties included getting/refilling cold drinks, retrieving wrenches that were hucked across the garage because of stubborn nuts/bolts, and utilizing my curves/body mass to stand on axels to remove old springs...all of which I found essential to completing this job!

Also had to get new jack stands in the middle of the job. Needed bigger/taller ones in order to drop the rear axel enough to remove old springs. Guess we could have used wood blocks to raise up, but the bigger heavier duty ones just felt more stable and safer.
The finished product~

Here are some not so great before and after shots. Not a huge difference in in lift, but noticeable and no more saggy low riding in the back!

Now I just need some new tires to replace the old Michelin's the PO put on....coming soon hopefully!!

Now He needs a round of applause.

Haven't done the castor correction yet. Have the OME bushings already, but just haven't installed. Wanted to drive it first, and was pleasantly surprised at how well it drove! No weird vibrations (even at 70mph on the freeway), no pulling side to side when braking, not stiff to drive at all. Don't really know what the castor correction will do to help as it already drives very well. I have them, so I will probably install, but is there any harm in not installing the castor correction bushings?
70mph, I thought the speed limit is 55 on the island. I didn't need the caster correction bushings either. The beast drove straight and smooth, but then it drove so much better with the bushings installed.

Few good places to get above 55 on the island... H3 comes to mind.... ;-)

Plenty of places, coming down H3 is definitely one!

Went from half size single drawer to full size single drawer. Using 500 lb capacity full lock in/out slides.

Where did you get that, Tamiya? Looks like it has the 1HDT. My birthday is around the corner and that is going on the list. It could finally fit in NYC garage!

My little brother gave it to me as a birthday gift. It's from Tamiya. It's a diesel! Hehe

Got her smogged and since she was such a good truck I treated her to new stickers and a nice set of bull bars courtesy of Craigslist.
