I decided to do some diy machining to lighten up my driveshaft using a big rock as my lathe and cutter. Glad I went with the heavy wall driveshaft, no vibes on the drive home. Tom woods makes a great driveshaft, if this was my Tacoma it would be sliced and twisted in two.
Did 3 days of wheeling/camping on the DBBB over the weekend.
Got a few things done over the weekend, swivel hub rebuild, front axle rust removal and Dinitrol coating, new diff drain/fill plugs, sway bar refresh and brake caliper rebuild.
Initially tried to get the Toyota reman calipers but my dealer couldn't order them over here, they seem to be US/NA exclusive. So I decided to rebuild the existing calipers with the OEM cylinder kits, new mounting hardware and 2K caliper paint.
First time swivel hub rebuild for me, messy and definitely not my favorite type of work but had to be done. At least now I know how to remove cone washers efficiently.
