Nice job on the shields. I’m picking up a 3D printer soon. Might need some tips on setup.

For the tailgate setup, I cut sections out of the side and left the middle intact because I didn’t want to lose strength. I use the tailgate to stand on when accessing the roof. You are making me rethink that strategy. I used 1/8 ALU tread plate measured as close to the edges as possible, it is probably strong enough with out the middle section. let me know how strong it is when you are done. I might do the same.

Have you kneeled on that yet? :hmm:

(2) beers, hey, who’s counting? Maybe 3.

How are your wheels so cleeeeeeeeen!?!?
...or how did you get them so clean?

Good question, I don't know? I tend to wheel in mud and forests more than the desert here, that could be it? I love the desert but I head north a lot to wheel.

Didn’t take a before picture but the install of the rear carpet was kind of butchered with huge cutouts around the seat hardware, especially the wheel wells, so I covered that up. Didn’t come out as smooth as I wanted but still looks better

nice 80 Zona. Practiced some social distancing this weekend and finally replaced my rear lift gate and tailgate thanks to @slowpoke2

Hahaha, thanks, our rigs look similar so guess I'm not the only one with great taste! haha. What happened that you needed to replace the lift/tailgate? It looks good.

I noticed you have your spare tire carrier under the bumper but you have the spare up top? You might notice .0005 increase in gas mileage if you drop it. hahaa.

Claudia in the LX and myself in the 80 were practicing some social distancing northeast of Phoenix this afternoon:

While we're airing up, a guy in a silver 4-runner approached us; turns out it was the guy in the middle of the lineup of stuck vehicles some 5 years ago:
:)

Haha great minds think alike! But, I got hit in Big Bear last year so my rear window got smashed in and the tailgate and lift gate were also damaged so I replaced them all together.

I’ve tried every trick to get better MPG but I figured out if I work more OT it doesn’t hurt as much 🤣

So I knew the brakes on the 80 were getting bad, but the PO told me that they were just serviced. Anyway came off the freeway and when slowing down I felt something go in the brake pedal. So limped it home and started uncovering the POs "serviced brakes"

Drivers side yet to be investigated, but quick inspection says better nick than the passenger side

Let me guess..... It never made any noise?

I had no idea how bad the old ones were until I put the "new" ones in 😅

Gears need to be replaced and shortly after installation I blew the big 30a fuse in the cab. Hopefully just a pinched wire during installation causing a short.

Overall big improvement!
