Had some fun plowing around on some forest roads. Took a pic of someone’s 40...she kept sayin’ how cute it was...wish I would’ve known That Girls liked 40’s in my 20’s! Saw a pretty blue 60 series too.

Well done. Going for long extended rides off pavement is a pillar of our marriage, all worries fade away. Fact is, it was her call to buy the 80 over a better deal on a 100. She said, " Don't care if it needs work, it's just cooler in every way." I replied, "Done".

Battery tie down keep getting loose during off-road, so decided to fix the issue with sturdy solution. Homemade battery tray and tie down. I will paint it later.

This week (weekends don't exist in my current work life) rear axle got a full service including brakes and E brake, had a free hour today and fixed the jumpin speedo as per prior mud posts by slipping out the inner cable, cleaning, then lube and reinstall. Was a quick fix. Eventually will replace the outer sheath b/c there was a build up of fiber wound around the cable a few inches from the insert fitting, had to shave it off to reinstall, must have been dry for a while and wearing on that inside wall collecting material. But it's good now, only bounces ever so slightly. And ordered more parts, full front axle service, new Birfs, plus rotors are next.

Also got the CDL to work today by actuating it repeatedly over the past couple weeks, dash light is out, but it works. It's more fun to work on the 80 than my CJ. Another big thank you to contributing members, could not do it this easy without y'all. I'll start taking fixin pics one of these days, the 80 is all new to me, so for now I need to focus on the task.

I don’t like cross posting but since not everyone reads my build thread I’ll post this here.

After testing a few different setups I’ve settled on this marine hatch for access to the quarter panel fuse block. I also installed the aux port, USB, and another voltmeter just to monitor the house battery while sleeping in the truck.

Rear PS brakes get really hot.
I replaced them 2 weeks ago, bled the system. Replaced the front DS caliper cause it seized up. Think this rear one is due for a replacement. I give up. Gotta take it to a mechanic this time.

But again, to my defense, I did not drive the car. It was the :princess: again, I swear. I don't know how she does it. Her DD got really messed up too. No brakes, no thread left on the tires (all 4). Actually wires are sticking out of the front tires now.

:censor:

Damn...clean! I need to find someone who I can pay to deal with my electrical setup. It's annoying being electro-uniclined.

Revoke her driving privileges and send her to the kitchen .

Just kidding, fix her her truck and make it safe for her. No one is going to marry you

Lexus, sub was in the center console. And with the JL’s in the doors I haven’t missed a sub.

I don’t have a life currently and can offer assistance as needed as long as food and beverages are provided.

Might have to take you up on that...

Nice thoughtful work, marine hatch is sweet. Loving the right sized fire extinguisher. Only thing that could make it better is faster exterior access to it, and another extinguisher. But that's my FF training paranoia. You know....rule of 3s'. 3 emergency items is really 2, 2 items are really 1, and 1 item is really none. But I'm just being critical, don't even have one in my rig yet. and I get it, space is at a premium. Regardless, awesome work.

Criticism is always welcome, my skin is extremely thick. The rear extinguisher is just that, for the rear. I have others in the passenger compartment. My OCD is almost as bad as @NLXTACY ’s

Just my 2 cents, but a woman who will ride with you beats a woman who will marry you, all day, everyday. :flipoff2:
I should have said “no one else.”

@Dragos80 is really a great guy, hope to wheel again with him soon.

Just looking through the build thread @ ewillis (awesome), I'm a noob to this site, and just making conversation, never even really posted anything online before, know nothing about internet etiquette, just realized you guys all ride together out there on the west coast, y'all have a impressive trail crew. Very cool. Here in NYC metro we don't have much of a off road culture, so I'm a little overenthusiastic. And, us NY'ers tend to yap a bit much for most everybody else. You all have great rigs, I'm just starting with mine that's lived in NYC it's whole life. I've got rust that needs descaling, and it will cost me. Much respect, call me out on anything, that's how we make conversation in our neck of the woods. I'll chill out a bit.
