You know your truck is reliable when it holds out all day before finally breaking in a convenient place!

You got that right... :D

That is why I return the favor, I pamper her and she takes care of me on and off road :bounce::bounce2:

My :princess: tells me that my 80 is more high maintenance compared to her... You be the judge...

Got me some new shoes today! Planning on ripping off running boards, bug deflector, flares & roof rack. Definitely need to lift soon.

you should rip the flares off the official way... leave them on until you truly rip them off.

HA! Normally wouldn't mind that method, but since they are in such great shape, figured they could use a good home.

No doubt. Knocking on wood, but i have been very fortunate that my truck has always, with the exception of a u-joint, waited to break down in my driveway.

All my toyotas have broke in a driveway. Sometimes they even fix themselves! A few years ago I left my fog lights on in my first gen tacoma the night before starting a thousand mile road trip. It was dead when I wanted to leave the next morning but jump started. The whole trip starting was a little weak, but it fired up and I was in some crazy places too. Got all the way to my destination and stopped outside my aunt's house. Went in to say hi and they told me I couldn't park on the street. Went out to move it and it was dead as a doornail! Made it the whole damn way though! Toyota 4 life!

Walker Valley Wa.

Just Went up to Walker Valley Wa. for the first time in 5 years. It has gotten so much better for 4x4's. There are actually some designated trails that are not just for bikes or quads. and I came to a gate that was closed but not locked which saved a lot of backtracking. Not that I didn't want to do more wheeling.

I haven't been to walker valley yet. I heard that most of the trails would be too narrow and tight for an 80 series- what was your experience?

Easy back country Cruisin in N. Idaho. Saw a moose...

Needed to burn off a little steam after work...

..... Also did the plugs, cap, rotor, and wires. PO had Bosch dual platinums in there. So glad to get those out...

Did that last weekend. Sparkplugs? Champions! Cap/rotor was aftermarket too I think.

The creek.

We have a farm at the end of a one lane road, North Stoney Creek Road. This is where I grew up. I took my daughter and her dog to Stoney Creek, the roads namesake.

One of the swimming holes along the creek. The road meanders along with the creek and crosses it a few times.

And the weekend has just begun!

Drove it up Hobble Creek Canyon so i could help my buddy tow home his TDI beetle.

Poor guy was picking his boys up from scout camp out at Schofield and smacked the oil pan. We're not sure how bad it is. He put it in neutral and coasted the rest of the way down the mountain - but the engine stopped and won't even try to start now. Solenoid won't even click. We're hoping that the engine controller shut the thing down to protect it. He realizes he should have turned it off immediately but his experience with gassers is that with active cooling and no load they can run a real long time w/o oil.

Ouch. Hope all is well. I think the oil pans on those TDIs are plastic and sit only like 4 inches off the ground. Road kill has been known to crack them.

Let him know they make engine guards for them. Good investment.

Cast aluminum. Unsure how fancy of an alloy it is.

He knows about the engine guards.

Loaded the cruiser up the hatch with the 3rd row tucked full of bags, snacks, stroller, baby supplies and a big cooler full of water and soda and headed a couple hours south to Glen Rose for the weekend. So far it's been a good experience driving around all day in 100* weather and not having to tap the starter to get going after shutting off. Tomorrow we hit the safari and then back home!

Took the mud flaps off before Mother Nature takes em off for me! Easy 30 min job.

I think it looks cleaner and taller too haha. Too bad the rear bumper is a bit short of the flares.
