@bajaphile, for the spindle nuts, I got the chromoly locking nuts from Trail-Gear. They're still sitting on a shelf, until I service my knuckles. I read good reviews on them, as far as staying torqued. Maybe others will chime in with their experience.
I have them sitting in parts box also but I torqued the inner nuts to 25lbs and it hasn't come loose yet after 2 years so I assume he will be fine for a long time.
Drove 300km to Brisbane on Saturday night after working 11hrs. Bought new injectors and fuel filter on Sunday morning, fitted them in the afternoon. Then drove 300km back to chinchilla, overheated on the range with 200km to go. Found the flange on the back of the turbo leaking causing big heat soak in the engine bay and the crappy aftermarket fan clutch had completely failed. Used crappy old silicone from a truck stop to seal up the exhaust and attempted to duct tape the fan clutch to the hub. Duct tape lasted about 2 minutes before it got torn off, babied it the next 200km and got to chinchilla by 11 and promptly fell asleep.

So this past week/weekends I took the 80 on two camping / offroading trips. I went to Harlan, KY with my jeep friends and explored some areas where Fourwheeler magazine went for their ultimate adventure. I also went to red river gorge Ky with some other friends for a bachelor party. The 80 performed well but I desperately need to replace my rear lower control arm bushings after this trip. Here are a few pics:
Took youngest for a night camping above Big Sur off plasket rd. Met up with a good friend and his daughter. Just a dirt road but great camp spots and views of the Pacific!!
Got some expert help setting the base timing on the Golden Goose. Same expert help welded engine mount to frame because I still haven't learned my lesson about buying aftermarket parts from the rainforest/river web site. Then changed oil on the sewing machine engines (gen 2 and gen 5).

You know everyone loves photos around here. I love the area around Red River Gorge. I've only ever been down there for rock climbing and some adventure racing. Haven't been back since buying my 80 series. Can't want to get down there and explore. I'm slowly gathering as much Intel as possible. Were you following part of the KAT while down there?
