What did you do with your 60 this weekend?

I can smell that. Seriously
If you're talking about the P/S cooler, I run one on everything I use off road. Learned that lesson on 24hrs on the Hammers, an ARB sponsored
event around 1998ish. We ran our ARCA 2F FJ40 with a Saginaw conversion. There were 30 some trucks, all makes. The object was to continuously run all
the Hammers back to back until the seven Hammers that existed at the time were complete. Best time wins. Jason Bunch took first. I don't remember second. Pat Gremillion ( Pull Pal and Premier Power Welder ) took third and we took fourth. With just what was in the pump reservoir, we boiled it over by the second
trail. We had two extra quarts of p/s fluid and 4 quarts of motor oil. By the sixth trail we'd gone through all the P/S fluid and the motor oil, keeping the power steering working so we could turn the 38" Swampers. The last trail was run with water in the reservoir. It got us through, maybe cost us a position, but we finished in 4 1/2 hours. After 24 hours a third to half the trucks were still on the trail. When we got back home I built a one gallon reservoir for the power steering. Never boiled over again in any event.
It's not just an issue with competition rigs where you're pushing to the limit. I boiled over my stock 60 system on the John Bull trail.

Super exciting day today as it was oil change day. Also learned the Harbor Freight Icon pick I used to pull off the previous crush washer that was stuck to the oil pan has an incredibly sharp point. Beautiful day today so followed this with a nice drive.

sexy 62...

Repaired one of my driver's side knuckle to caliper mounting holes that was missing 3/4 of the threads. Knuckle rebuilds sure do seem to snowball sometimes...

Thanks to a member who loaned me his M12x1.25 Timesert kit. The outcome isn't 100% perfect because I did the drilling and tapping by hand but I mocked up the caliper and both bolts without issue.

For those of you who have DIY’d a power steering box rebuild, is the city racer kit (Steering Gear Box Seal Kit for '81 to 4/'85 Land Cruiser FJ60 - https://www.cityracerllc.com/products/steering-gear-box-seal-kit-for-81-to-4-85-land-cruiser-fj60) worth it?

Some of the other kits I’m seeing are $250 but most are out of stock. Red head charges $500ish last I checked, so that’s a last resort.
I got one of the last Toyota kits so I can't say, other than it looks complete. Toyota still sells some of the individual seals and it's good to get a few extra of the large diameter teflon one that goes on the piston. It's easy to cut that one when you're putting the piston in and it's a bummer to have to wait for a replacement.

Replaced the starter today (Friday) ahead of the weekend! It's a relatively simple job BUT I don't know what tools y'all use but I find the top nut to be unpleasantly challenging to get a hold of. I've got all the ratchets/extensions/angles/etc. and it's a b**** to lock onto. The others - bottom bolt, ground nut, electrical connector - are a breeze.

Anyhoo - new starter made the LC very happy!

Between theirs and SOR, but they look identical.

What wheels are those?
OEM FJ40 wheels/caps I got from online Toyota dealer 3 years back. Had them powered coated before install.

I challenge you to find a SMALLER upgrade for a FJ62 than this one. Namely: found that the old gaskets on the rear license plate light covers were half corroded and/or non existent. Purchased a 1/16" rubber sheet from Amazon for $7.00 and created my own gaskets. Boom.

If anyone wants to do this the easy way, Cruiser Cult sells these gaskets. Mine was also a brittle wafer when I noticed and replaced a few years back:
