Ordered new pads and rotors for the front, and built a sleeping platform to augment the cross country camping experience. Hopefully will be ready for summer trips by the time it's time to leave for one. The Rocky Mountains are calling me...
The entire time I've had this 60, my kid and I have just slept in the back with a foam pad and just crammed in amongst our gear, with some stuff getting shoved under the rig to make space.
Now, he's bigger than your average 10 year old, so space is a little more important. Now we can put the foam on top, gear underneath, and I won't wake up from a bruised kidney because I rolled over onto my Hi-Lift jack....

Spent the morning bending an tacking up the next three chassis build brackets.
Coilovers all 4 corners and 4 links front and rear brackets.

So I thought the motor on front passenger side wide window was almost dead. I had to push the glass up the last couple of inches. Started to replace the window regulator and separated the electrical connector. To my surprise there was a lot of green goop! I say goop because someone had added some sort of gel or grease? Moisture got into the terminals and the corrosion was real. Spent half an hour with a pick, a small file and some electrical terminal cleaner. Window now rolls up on its own! It's not the fastest window of the four, but a huge improvement! I will eventually get some relays for the win.
Big milestone! Inner structure completed this weekend. Decided to not remove the driver side gutters after seeing how good the inner structure was behind the worst of the rusty gutters on the passenger side, except what i thought was the worst spot. Removed a section of gutter there to check for peace of mind, and it was just fine. Soaked the driver side with ospho yesterday and priming today. Next step will be reattaching all the gutters. Make a couple patches on the roof skin, then on she goes. Getting closer!

Little mid week messing, finally did the valve lash on her, she finally doesn't sound like a diesel anymore. Some had absolutely no play some you might could almost fit in a quarter in. Safe to say it hasn't been done in a long time.
Time for this fun job, enjoying it so far. Didn't look in the box the parts house gave me for some replacement wheel studs and of course they're wrong

for building a dirt simple, super reliable EFI system that goes 250K miles without issues on minimal maintinance, and zero vaccum leak or exhaust leak problems like a 2F has? What a piece of junk, right!
In the last few years since I started my shop I have come to appreciate the 3FE as the best engine variant that came in the 60 series. Gonna make some 12HT folks mad
