The new hood insulator is a game changer on the appearance under the hood!

haha it used to be much quieter when i had the tailpipe exiting behind the rear axle, but it dumps down now after the muffler and the sound bounces off the ground.

I was thinking of making some of these for 2fs and 3fes using stainlessbros 304ss and vbands and stuff but since moving, i dont have any test vehicles to use to get any Jigs made up. You are right though, the exhaust on the 60 series with the original motors are really easy to make and really simple
Make me one!

Downtown used to be so awesome back in 2005-2006.
I don’t know about that … I lived there in 2007. Then again, I was an up-to-no-good party boy in my very early 20s haha. Lots of fuzzy nights at the Yamhill Pub and walking around aggressively busking at passersby during first Friday art shows.

Yeah that’s normal rock n roll shenanigans though. I walked 100 blocks to see the white stripes in Portland once. I don’t think I could pull that off today without incident.

I would die of fatigue

I would die of fatigue
I was wearing cowboy boots that were half size too large. I did die of fatigue. Seriously, maybe my knee problem has something to do with that night. I earned the nickname/stage name “Walkin’ Paul” though, so it was worth it. And I saw the white stripes with a bunch of garage rock nerds from all over the globe. Cool night.

Brake Day! Got my new master cylinder, brake booster and a dodgy front caliper replaced. Nice to get rid of more crusty, rusty stuff out of the engine bay! The new @Racer65 booster is great, nice power and modulation!

Haven’t been on here in a while. Truck is up on jacks, axles are out. New ARB’s Fr and Rr going in. Bought them over the last couple of years to spread out the cost.
Today I made a press to show it can be done cheap! It’s an old bench press bench. Pushed and then pressed the pinion bearing on today.
Remember, just like the knuckles there are generally shims under the pinion big bearing to set up pinion depth, make sure you put them back!!

That just looks like rusty muffler water.

getting sweet smelling white exhaust with engine running?
I have been so frustrated trying to find my coolant leak on the Landcruiser. I have to fill about an inch into the reservoir after every drive. I put dye into the coolant and found a small leak on the rear heater coolant lines. Tightened those and then pressure tested the system at 17 PSI yesterday. Couldn’t find a leak after crawling all over it with a black light pen for 1/2 an hour. Pressure stayed at 17 for the whole 30 min. I changed the oil and ran the truck for a few minutes yesterday. THIS MORNING, MY WIFE DISCOVERED THE LEAK! She said “Is that rust n the floor?” Nope…. Know a good head shop?!

I'd start by not buying fuel at that station? Do you frequent the same fuel place like we all do? If they don't tend to their
tanks water accumulates. Took a few months to get water out of the system on my '07 tundra after I bought it. Not sure
where it had been fueled but I suspect the same place every time.
If you think you have a coolant leak, look under the cap for oil in coolant. Look in overflow to make sure it's consistent.
Go over all the hoses and fittings, especially by firewall and under carper inside behind the heater core. Look for drips
and dye staining along the rear heater lines and under the truck. Especially look under the bottom of water pump.

Done all that! Check out my new post titled “she’s hotblooded!”

coolant/oil mixed on dipstick or in radiator?
is the exhaust white? smell like coolant?
does the exhaust clear up once the engine is warm?
does your overflow bottle feed back to the radiator or have the external drip line?
Oil is fine and no visible steam in the exhaust but this was immediately after my pressure test. Check out my new post titled “she’s hotblooded!”
