@cheeese I was on the west side of Hood. I’ll be on the east side next weekend with the wife. Prolly go checkout Tawanamas Falls. I’d also like to have time to checkout the rock climbing at Bulu Point.
We need to arrange a campout.

There were a lot of folks at Tamanawas and nearby, all the streams and creeks were running pretty nicely except for the White, at least where 35 crosses it. Looks like some nice routes at Bulu/Bulo if the ratings aren't sandbagged or you're good at off-width cracks. I bet your kids are fearless enough to shred though!

Camped at Bulu last year with my buddy James. The view looking east toward the Columbia Basin was a sight with all the wind turbines blinking all night. Thousands of them. The climbing there has nice routes and a lot of awesome bouldering even fun for the kids.

Little memorial day camping with our family! Not exactly roughin' it, but we still had a blast.

Drove it. My more DD FJ60 is down for minor t-case surgery so I'm using the other FJ60. This is first Cruiser we owned and was the family vehicle for years. It's an '85 and we've had it since 1993 or 94. I swapped in a 3FE just a little over 20 years ago. That 3FE was rebuilt about 250 k miles ago. With a growing family this FJ60 became the farm vehicle with only short runs. I've done > 200 miles today and had forgotten how smooth the 3FE can be. It's mated to a H42 and is rolling on @beno worn out Toyo specials. When I purchased the tires I had no plans to use them for longer trips but there still not bad. 255/85/16s.

I discovered that one of the small molded hoses that comes off the top of the t-stat housing was leaking. A short section of 3/8" fuel line was the replacement.

Well my 60 is blowing a ton of white smoke. Going to pull the head and see what's going on.

Here is a photo from the trip that fried my HG and potentially head.
Going to pull it apart and find out whats going on. Losing a ton of coolant and overheating.
NEW CSF Radiator to replace my third aluminum one (Yeah I have had three of them fail in the same spot.)

New Waterpump, you can see the build up from non distilled water in the system.

Put it all back together with a new thermostat, fan clutch, hoses, and all that good stuff.

And its actually smoking a ton. Pulling the head to inspect and rebuild. Hopefully, the block is okay from overheating.

I’m sure if your not using distilled water and reg tap water that’s not helping your radiator. Looks like calcium buildup.

Yeah, I didn't have a choice when I broke down on the road, I ran water I had. Not sure what PO did but that was a lot of build up. But the new fluid is distilled and antifreeze mix. I flushed it as well with distilled.

Glass shop couldn’t fix the rock chips so I got a new PGW windshield and gasket. Installer said the track had zero rust at least- and he tucked the headliner back in properly.
