It was actually pretty good. A little bouncy sometimes but not bad.

Phenomenal looking rig, how the heck did you get it in your garage? And how was 1500 miles of driving on those tires?

Center console refresh. All of my plastic holes for the screw attachments were toast. Bought a junk unit that must have been used in a rig with no rear heater so some surgery was needed and it had major sun fading.
Sprayed it with SEM Colorcoat graphite.

^^^thanks, their performance tx1 wheels from Australia. I had ordered these back in 2012.
Reminds me of the old DeTomaso wheels, as on my dad's '72 Pantera when I was growing up. I really like 'em too on your rig.

Yesterday we made a recon trip into the Raton Basin southest of Raton NM. It is grassland with isolated mesas and peaks of volcanic origin. Beautiful country but all privately owned ranches.

Louise is continuing to get up to speed: this week we replaced almost the entire cooling system, and a few other items:

Water pump/gaskets
Thermostat/gaskets
Upper/Lower Thermostat housing
Fan Clutch
All hoses that contain coolant
Oil Cooler Hoses
Oil pressure sending unit
Battery Tray

A few weeks ago, we did:
Plugs
Wires
Distributor Cap
Rotor

Still runs warm. It looks like a freeze plug on the side of the block is leaking, and one of the hoses is leaking. I'm hoping it's not the tiny little hose from the bottom of the water pump.

Anyway, took her out in the first snow...and of course, grabbed a few pictures:

Haven’t messed with the 60 in a while been busy with responsibilities and such was catching up and seeing some new trucks and got inspired to go ahead and go drive it around make sure everything good and clean it up... to my surprised found some good ole MOLD! So tossed 3 car seats and some camping gear and backpack in the back... good news my wife casually says well just get some new carpet! So did just that! Had some time today so gutted everything out and started to clean it up preparing for the new carpet.

Also had the chance to put my cheap diy gasket in between the header and exhaust. It worked! No more loud exhaust right at my feet

Okay, Bob's your uncle. Started up and never got warmer than a needle's width above the first third of temp gauge. Beno was the man this week getting me a couple of hard to get OEM hoses and thermostat. So the cooling system is refreshed, plus I changed the air filter and adjusted the kick down cable about a mm or two. Shee-it, I'm rolling in the big leagues and trying out those brakes! Not too bad either. Bath coming up tomorrow.

After a one-month hiatus of front-end work, got the Cruiser back up and running.

Finally got the auxiliary power steering cooler up and running, new AC Condenser attached, new Water Pump, new T-stat, gaskets, hoses, Water Temperature Gauge (didn't redo the upper and lower housing for thermostat). New oil-cooler hoses. Probably missing some things.

Anyway - its working and not leaking, so I am a happy dude.

In the last little bit, since I had the front-end taken out already - I decided to perform the infamous fan shroud mod.

I decided to use some spare sheet metal I had laying around and drilled a few holes to allow for aluminum rivets to get in there.

After extensive cleaning, I decided to rattlecan with some rustoleum to help keep the shroud working for another number of years.

I was impressed with the results. And when I went to put the upper shroud on it was super easy. Well worth the time and energy.

Cleaned up the garage, stored the RTT and got the 60 back into the garage for the winter so I can get the H55f installed and finish the rust work.

With the sunny / dry weather we’ve been having in Oregon, we decided to head out from Portland to the coast (Pacific City, OR – Cape Kiwanda). I didn’t realize the surf conditions were going to be so nice or I might’ve grabbed the boards out of my attic! Cape Kiwanda is protected so it was maybe 1-3’ chest / head high surf on the sets but on the other side of the Cape going north, there was some solid surf with howling offshores - good stuff! The ole gal behaved herself on the trip and it was cool to get a “thumb’s up” from a couple 80 series LC’s we saw on the drive. Good times!
