Swapped the 33" BFG Mud Terrains from Righty onto the 60 to see how they'd do in place of the 31" General Grabber AT2s the PO installed. In short: Awesome.

Immediately, the larger MTs felt a LOT better. Decreased the quirky on-road behavior of the Lock-Rite in the rear and smoothed things out quite a bit on some local trails, even at street pressures

Up in the mountains around Lake Arrowhead, the fate of the 31s was set...they'll be on CL as soon as I can get a set of 33s permanently on the 60.

A bit of rubbing on on the rear when stuffed, but wow...what a difference! Felt like a different truck.

These things are amazing. 33s, a bit of a lift, a simple Lock-Rite locker in the rear, and this 34 year old beast was ready for whatever I'd throw at it.

Truck looks awesome, man! I think 33's on a 60 look just right. Looks like some pretty fun trails too.

Cheers

Added some Trail Gear sliders in preparation for GSMTR '16. Painted with Rustoleum primer and Black.

bama4door, I'll be looking for you at GSMTR.

Did my best not to shout any nasty profanities at my 60 yesterday while getting the passenger window back up into place. That chore blew. The savings grace of being a thin girl; I have small hands and skinny arms. Thankfully some folks on the TLCA fb page guided me with the retaining clip, ect. Not the chore I wanted to work on but it fell Friday afternoon and became the priority for my vaca day. Had to do some cleaning up of the channel it sits in as it was pretty rusty on one side but the rubber gasket was almost entirely intact.

My rear shock mount/bar broke a couple of weeks ago. Finally had time to crawl under there and take a look. Looks like the/a PO used a 2in tube to repair the original bar. I'm trying to decide if it would be okay to use a slightly smaller pipe to slide in the existing 2in tubes in both frame rails (The slightly smaller tube is the same size as the original shock mount.)

Did a little organ transplant in the form of a fresher 3rd member. Threw a Spartan locker in while I had it apart.

Took her out to Evans Creek for a bit, she did great but you can only follow mini trucks on 40's so far. I had to turn around when they started going down a 45 degree hill with nasty ruts and big rocks. It was rainy and very foggy up there.

It's been a busy weekend of repairs for my cruiser!

  • Installed a Mean Green alternator
  • Removed the EGR system
  • Removed the smog pump
  • Installed new aux belt to bypass the smog pump
  • Capped off the air injection manifold
  • Installed new OE air filter
  • Installed new OE fuel filter
  • Replaced cracked air intake hose with OE
  • Calibrated the throttle position sensor
  • Cleaned throttle body
  • Adjusted throttle and kickdown cables

In park, she's idling between 1000 - 1100 RPM. But in D with no throttle, I'm idling at 650 RPM.

@Bama4door , why are you running spacers on what appears to be stock chrome steelies?
No spacers in the front and 1.5" spacers in the rear to make it look more even. The rear wheels are sucked into the wheel wells a lot more that the front, and I like a more even stance.

Looking forward to it! Will you have big blue ready?

Unfortunately no. I ran out of time and money. It's close but not done. Need about another 2 or 3 weeks. Will be in the 40
