Mechanical prep for Colorado drive complete. Added a WAT trans cooler (20 degree difference at idle!). Also reinstalled my big tie rods, did the diff and transfer fluids (add shock gear oil from redline to each, 1/3 bottle). Went to redline engine oil this time. Bled the brakes. Did an alignment. She's ready to party!

So basically in a month I drove over 5000 miles, during which I had the trans cooler, nomad valve body, aux gas tank, and terrain tamer brakes installed. Today I took it to Lexus to have the oil changed and and just once overed by them. I got it back with “wow” written on the mirror hanger. Never seen that before and figure none of the work was visible to anyone but the mechanics so they must’ve wrote it.... or I’m delusional and it was totally unrelated. Either way kinda funny.

Im using this truck mainly as a tow vehicle for my 4500 lb travel trailer. I saw it as a necessary upgrade/preventative maintenance. I did get the lock up also. So far it is working out great. No more searching for gears and it lowers my rpms ever so slightly so in the long run I should see fuel savings as well.
Georg at cruiser brothers basically convinced me this is pretty much an essential part of a build and when I can afford it I want to do it to my other rig as well.

Did a rear bumper chop after work yesterday. A 4.5” zip cut made it pretty quick and easy. Still some clean up to do but will get the job done until I have time to make a rear bumper

I am digging the emuwings and watching them closely. If you go with one I'd be down to help(drink beer) and check out the install.

I may take you up on the “help”. The quarter window is $562 without install. I can find it for around $425, but EmuWing wrote back saying they send me one for a total of $900AUD which is cheaper than a new window(installed) if my math is right. I think I may do it. I can’t get the window replaced before FJ Summit which kinda sucks cuz that’s a 6 hour drive with no window.......

Just put a piece of cardboard in there and write on it with a Marker "#EAF Point Multipler"
