started swapping gastanks...

I needed a way to secure my new fridge, my 02 tank and I desparately needed some tie downs in back of the Iron Moose. So I created this. Now if I can only get it secured in the back I think I am good to go.

Looks like it will turn out sweet Kyle, just like the 55.Where have you been hiding that sweety anyway?:)

Thanks!

I have too many projects, that's the problem. It has just been sitting in the garage waiting for its turn.

I am actually taking it to the FJ Summit in Ouray in a couple of weeks. What do you want to bet that it is the only 55 there? :hhmm:

Put new shoes on her earlier in the week. Kept one of the full widths as a spare. Had to re-work the mount on the swing out.

Good day of grinding and welding in 100+ heat yesterday

I Pulled my front bench out and cut out the old seat mounts that were welded back in by a PO at some point... I also found out that the rear bench has a "Custom" spacer, made out of 2x4's... Just one more thing to fix. Also my Filler neck on my 40 gal tank has a hole in it and seems to have allot of floaters from the looks of my fuel line so I will drop that and clean it out.

...and when I went to connect the big rubber filler hose to the tank, found it was a couple inches short. WTF?says I. That cannot be. But it's true. the filler tube on the "new" tank is shorter than my stock '74 tank. tried the rubber hose off the Pickle (another '74 tank). The rubber hose was an inch longer, but still not long enough. Not willing to pull apart the third, and only running, Pig at the moment. I just put the old tank back in. I'm gonna start a WTF about gastanks thread shortly.

dude, just stab a piece of muffler tube in that hose to fill the gap.....burn some beads across the ends of the pipe and blend them down to make lips to keep the rubber in place.

Wired the tail lights, turn signals and brake lights so I can be "road legal" for BHCC. Turns out its easier to make a 78 dash harness work with a 73 rear body harness than the other way around. Just had to run some power differently and re-pin some plugs in the tail lights. Now I have one light the does run and brake and one that does run and turn on each rear assembly.

Ran power from the fuse box through a flasher to the GL wire into the TS switch, then ran power from the brake light switch directly GW wire the is present in the rear harness, but unused in the 78 harness. The rear light plugs are three pin, with the middle one not being used. I used it.

Got in the "Bucket". Started it up and backed up 4 feet before 1000s of pissed off wasps attacked me and I bailed out. Stung 8 times on my arms... not cool. Climbed in my car and drove to the hardware store and bought 5 cans of wasp spray. The little bastards got me good but I think I got the last laugh... killed them all and there family and friends. Got back in the Bucket and drove it to town for a bit.

New grill

Painted and installed new grill, bezels, and side vents --- after drilling and extracting almost every single screw and bolt that held them in :bang:
