I know what Murfs ordering this week...very:cool:

Nah, nice but $$ and I like to keep the OE look (for at least a few things :hillbilly:). The old one looked real nice already so he didn't have to repaint anything. Mostly internal tune up, overall cleaning up, and getting everything working smooth again.

What I am looking to do next is to figure out a way to remount the top mounting point for the drivers seat belt. Being tall, the top part of the belt that goes over my left shoulder mounts at just above shoulder level so after a couple hours off road it rubs the top of my shoulder pretty bad. I would like to move it up about 4-6 inches.

:hhmm:

Unclog sunroof drains and fix dome light

My headliner got wet during last week storm. It turned out that 3 out of the 4 of my sunroof drains were clogged. The 2 front drains were easy to deal with, I ran a wire from the roof drain holes through the hose. I also used a stainless steel cable tie to unclog the drains on the rocker panel without having to remove sliders.

Since the rear roof drain holes are not visible with the roof opened. I ran a wire from the drain hose located at the rear quarter panel up to the sunroof. This didn't solve the problem. I ended up have to open up the headliner to disconnect the hose, then ran a wire to the sunroof drain hole, and through the hose down to the quarter panel. A quick test of pouring water to 4 corners of the sunroof shows that I have good drains now.

I also fixed the dome light by resiting the light bulb. I should have done this when I first bought the cruiser 8 years ago :).

Headliner partially opened for access to drain hole and hose.

no room left for the deer!

since the LX behaved really nicely on almost 1000 miles and three days off the grid last week, it got rewarded with three new custom cupholders - $0.99 each at IKEA :hillbilly: - I'll post pics next time I am in AZ

-New battery cables (almost done, making them in the garage)
-New lift gate supports-ebay
-LED dome lights -ebay
-built a flat roof rack to haul camping gear, yet still allow the 80 to fit in the garage. Mounting it to some Thule bars and feet.
-made several major modifications to the hitch mounted bike rack to allow 3 bikes to be mounted up rather high via upright back carriers.
-Installed a factory hitch on the 80- Thanks to MoGas.

Put on the Pizza Cutters!

Pulled the trigger on some 255/85's.

Thanks Murf for the ordering and install.

Replaced (another) broken motor mount

I should have inspected the passenger side mount more carefully when I replaced the driver side (post 69) https://forum.ih8mud.com/showpost.php?p=8838837&postcount=69

I checked the passenger mount this afternoon and saw that it was also broken

The passenger mount is a real pain because it is under the battery and over the pumpkin and it is a real :censor: to jack up that side of the engine.

Guess I should check the bell housing mounts next :hmm:

These mounts have probably been broken for years, and weren't mounts so much as motor "rests".

Hope this keeps my power steering pump from hitting the fan shroud next trip!

I wasnt going to try making the top of the peak being unlocked with that spur road being so steep and with ice...but Rockjock was yelling wimp from the top of the hill:princess: not really but I said hell with it and went for it. Only had a little issue on one of the steps with it slipping and with Re_guderians sweet spotting skills got up it without even a tire chirp:steer: The ice and snow on the switchback wasnt even a challange. I kind of wish we had more snow just for fun:grinpimp:

I love ratchet-style lockers!

You have to :steer: more aggressively, but they perform more reliably than any selectable locker I've seen on the trail.

looking good
