On a side note for Tucson dwellers, avoid Desert Toyota. They have the worst customer service and charge well over MSRP, 30-50%. They never have small stuff on hand, never call when your order arrives. They are just jerks. I wish I could use Camelback, but Precision has been super helpful and charge MSRP. I know, no discount but they have been getting my special order parts the next day.

When in a rush they get it done or have what I need on hand. I'll support them as much as my wallet can handle.

I emailed the parts manager at Desert and told him they were my parts source of last resort after detailing my experiences. He did respond with an apology.

That would be great! I have the HF one that goes to 300ft/lbs, but I'd like to see how it compares to a higher quality torque wrench. I'll be buttoning up over the next several days. I just had the injectors serviced locally and put them back in yesterday. Same day service I broke two injector wire harness connectors, luckily Precision had them. I have a ton of hoses to replace as well as the EGR VSV. I'm replacing the low pressure PS hoses and hopefully that will solve my PS leaks.

Text me at 520 404-2530 and hopefully we can coordinate.

Will do. I think I saw in another thread that Rudster was heading to Tucson for the holiday. Maybe we can ask him for a favor?

I could drop it off to him.

Perfect!

Didn't "do" anything but just discovered this this morning. Fox 2.0 shocks, 22k miles on them. Bummer. Not sure if I should rebuild or try a new setup. Anyone local rebuild these?

We had a set rebuilt by SDHQ in Gilbert several months back and they did a good job for us.

Ross, once you deal with Kristal you will never go back, even hard to find 40 parts delivered to your doorstep in short order.

Ahh yes, I know of them. Didn't know they did that however. I will give them a shout. Thanks much for the info Eric.

Mark and Greg rock! The harmonic balancer is now solidly tightened to 304ft/lbs. The HF wrench had it pretty much dead on.

Thanks again guys, Mark your torque wrench is a monster!

Glad I can be of help!

Well the cruiser is running! I hope the roughness is just a combination of year old gas in a near empty tank and the ECU relearning what it means to be alive.

Replaced the EGR VSV and all the hoses under the upper manifold.
Replaced all heater hoses and the mixer.
Replaced the valve cover gasket and resealed the leaky half moons
Had the injectors cleaned locally
Replaced the leaking crankshaft seal and oil pump gasket
Replaced the leaking o-ring for the distributor. A little oil in there, I cleaned and will monitor.
New spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap.
Replaced the leaking low pressure power steering hoses. I'm not sure this will be enough.
Rehabbed my blue fan clutch with ~17.5K oil.
Changed the oil.

I'll check the timing tomorrow and hopefully it will pass smog test tomorrow and then be ready for Prescott on Monday. It has taken me a month of puttering to get this done and a big shout out to Rudster and GBinAZ! Oil pressure looks good.

do not leave a finger in the door when you close it or you will have to run around with this:

Lol! How was your reaction time? Last time that happened to me it took several seconds for the signal to get to the other hand to open the door. Ironically, I was heading into a Circle K for a cup of coffee.

my immediate reaction was a mix of WTF and totally  at myself - 3 days later I can't even recall whether I was able to pull the finger out or had to open the door again

and when I saw the blood, I got queazy and had to sit down for a minute

this could not have happened in the 40 - I don't think close those door can close that tight :hillbilly: - and right now, I am running the tube doors anyway

I agree, 40 doors are harmless.

Just spent some quality time with my son installing 4 new speakers in his car while he is home for the holidays. For what it's worth, the Sony's at Wally World are a huge improvement over oem's.

Have been busy in the garage for most of the week, Landcruiser maintenance and got the blue car out of mothballs after a 4 year rest. Many thanks to @LandCruiserPhil for the use of his electric pump, which I kept in my garage for almost 6 months before using it. I appreciate you patience. Jackson was on hand multiple days to lend a hand as he worked on his newest 100, baselining. Without Jackson, I might still be poking along on the oil change for the 80.

Tested the locker on the blue ride, the 315-35-17's went about 175 feet before my foot came off the gas. Locker works well. Tires will need to be replaced next.

@brices123 , we need to go for a ride.

Had to do Nanas starter in the gx after doing the TB, WP, and associated goodies. I have to say I was proud of myself. Only 4 hrs from start to finish on the 4.7 starter replacement. It's at 177k miles so it's still just getting broken in.
