When you try and install a new antenna mast but it has a hard time taking it all in. This is what it looks like from many years of replacing masts and never clearing out the motor. Looks like a nest full of worms. This is what I did.

Good luck with the EGR error on your '94. If you find the magic bullet let me know...it's the only thing I have yet to get resolved.

I went through the whole oil leak process you are doing a couple months ago, it is not bad just takes time and the RIGHT #3 cross point bit for the oil pump housing screws. I also did new water pump, thermostat, Radiator, fan clutch, hoses, belts and pulley's because "ya might as well while you got it all apart".

Will do. I am pretty sure this will fix it.

New brake shoes on the 4Runner installed. While I was installing the last front shoe I depressed the wheel cylinder a brake fluid leaked out. Boo! I'll order new ones. I also spent some time chasing oil leaks on the 4Runner. The PS is leaking and I thought I had it pin pointed to the low pressure-pump connection. While that area is dry, it is still leaking. I'll have to farm this out due to time. I have a big ole box of parts to install on the Land Cruiser to fix the EGR VSV, valve cover leak, distributor leak, oil pump cover leak, crankshaft seal, low pressure PS hose and every single vacuum line and hose under the upper intake plenum. I don't have time to futz with rebuilding a $Runner power steering pump.

I was thinking about you yesterday. I inherited my grandmother's 2010 Buick LaCrosse. It sat in front of our house for 4 months while sorting out probate and insurance. I noticed a funky smell when I started driving it a few months back. I finally opened the hood and the engine is filled with mesquite pods, some chewed on wiring, chewed up hood insulation and a nice nest under the air box.

It took me an hour with the shop vac to clean it all out and tape up the wire harness. I live in midtown near Reid Park, WTH?

Ross, I have found they have no borders no boundaries and will even sneak into your shop and steal your tools while you are sleeping..

Dealing with the squirrels is bad enough. Now I have car destroying rodents to deal with too?

Thanks to @murf and Camelback Toyota, I was able to change my valve cover gasket, spark plugs and wires, PCV valve and hoses and idler pulley, thorttle body gasket, d-cap and d o-ring My LX is running great now! It took me a little longer then what everybody states but I was taking my time.

Pulled a float in the 9th Annual Carefree Christmas Festival Electric Light Parade!. Our float won for the most creative! Just have a photo of the Land Cruiser (but isn't that the reason we won?)

And I pulled a "Phil". I warmed up my chicken dinner in the engine bay while driving in the parade.

Had to get a new battery. Got the same Everstart Maxx 24F. Previous one lasted over 3 years, not too shabby.

Had to change the battery in my 99 4runner this last summer mainly from the vehicle setting for months. It was a 11/08 battery. My 70 FJ40 still has the battery it had when I bought it in July 2011. Sets for months and always starts. Same with my FJ62 which the battery is at least five years old. All are just standard lead acid batteries. The difference is the 4Runner was from Oregon and came to Arizona in 2014 and the other two are in cool North Arizona. Just shows how hard the heat is on batteries and where we think three years is good.

I am trying to have a justified reason why I have an ancient Blue Top taking up space on my work bench, other than it still tests fine. Bought for the boat when we were still going to Rocky Point and the kids were in single digits. Got to be on the upside of 15 years.
There is a new trolling motor on the list for the Jon boat this year, could be a Guinness record.

No kidding, some previous vehicles I've had seemed like 2 years on the nose I'd have batteries die. Drving the 80 daily helps.
