Been waiting for parts to finish this FT. It will go into a LHD 105 mated with a H152.
IP and injectors will be ready tomorrow. Upgraded fuel pin and cover from Trundles. ACL bearings and Turbo arrived. I'm eager to finish it and start it on the bench. Cylinders look great. Meanwhile cleaned it up a bit. Black parts powder coated epoxy Cardinal BK208.

No. It’s dark something. Came from Saudia. Then TX. Then Truckee. Now it’s in Grass Valley getting a bumper. Once I get it, I’ll do the swap 1HZ/R151 to FT/H152. Custom intercooler etc. it’s for A friend. I’m helping him out. Not free. He promised to kill someone for me. 🙂

This friend went through 2 shops in Portland with an LS swap on an 80 and $60k later it’s still not right. Good friend. I’m helping. That’s what friends are for. I promised him that he will never want to drive another car after driving this rig.
 
I just feel like I need to post something in this thread — just for the sake of contributing.

My 60 and 100 are parked outside - stored for the winter. Yesterday, I spent quality time removing the layer of ice left by the recent freezing rain.

Oh boy, am I busy!

The LS swap thing is just something I do not understand... @cruisermatt is a good friend who does these fairly often--it is what customers ask for. He was by a couple of weekends ago testing a 60 series with one. Reminded me of full sized Blazer. But for me there is something very very special about driving a Land Cruiser with a Toyota diesel in it.

My only quibble with your decision on the FT is that having had my hands on both a 1HD-FT and 1HD-T's I just like the simplicity of the T's head.

I'm starting to get a little excited about the pending arrival of the Omani 80 with the FT in it. Here's where it was yesterday:

I installed them on all my FT engines. Fuel pin provides higher performance. There is also a cover and spring that goes with it.

This truck is an early year motor with just under 110,000 miles.

About what I would expect for the mileage. No delamination, these are the originals. But I don't play around with mystery BEBs.

Head on the FT. Cutting the heads of the old bolt and using them as guide makes the job so easy and never damage the head. Still need to torque it.

New OEM FT head? I didn't know they were still available.
No. It’s a rebuilt head in a shop that specializes in diesel heads. Mostly big CATs and trucks. They did an amazing job. $1k.

I had a spare head lying around so don’t have to wait to rebuild the original one. I’ll send it out once I finish the engine.

Will be mates with a H152 and swap a 1HZ/R151 in a LHD mint 105.

It is a municipality truck from the Emirate of Ajman, so perhaps it had some maintenance. What tipped me over the edge is the longer cab. It is eligible to be imported to the US at the end of the year. I like the paint and hopefully they don't spray something on the logo before delivering.

I have kind of a complex plan. I have a flatbed 1FZ-F 75 in Dubai that I will ship to Florida. In Florida I will swap the flatbed onto Golden Boy, my 1991 HZJ75 pickup. Then I will put the bed from Golden Boy onto the petrol FZJ75 and then sell it. It is a solid truck but I just like the diesels and hopefully someone on Mud will want the petrol FZJ75
