what did you end up doing
I ended up making a 1mm~ spacer, I read a few posts on this forum about bending the shift fork slightly which I tried and found that it doesn’t really work. It causes the fork to bind and offers only slightly better engagement. I read a comment in one of the threads about using a thicker gasket which gave me the idea for this.

How does this improve the engagement of the cltuch?

By shifting the whole housing back 1mm~ it shifts the linkages in the housing back 1mm~ also, therefore the clutch moves back too.

Now the clutch sits 1mm closer to the gear (still fully disengaged) in its neutral position but fully engages when in gear

very nice!
i have 5th gear ready to replace mine and was going to attempt the fork bend, but this seems much better.
Any tips?

I ordered a dozen Napa/Wix oil filters and Toyota fuel filters.

Started replacing all the soft brake lines and doing a full brake fluid flush. Pedal is already feeling better when I bleed the rear brakes. Also if you are getting ready to lift or redo suspension on one of these trucks not a bad time to do the brake lines because it is much easier if you undo or unbolt the brackets that connect the lines from the chassis to the axles.

Slowly turning my BJ70 into an HZJ70. Relocated a seat bracket and added a seat belt anchor so I could fit 2 buckets and a center console while doing away with the 60/40 seats. Also fitted a second hand dog platform that happens to have drawers!

I finally got around to adding another license plate to the “the things I’ll regret selling” wall. 😊

Mine would deserve a bath, too. But I'm scared to wet my electrics.
How did you do it? Did you cover up anything? Did you use any detergent?
Cheers Ralf
Purple power degreaser and let it soak and keep wet. Rinse everything well except alternator and you will be fine. Then drive around to dry it off and spray non glossy spray to hoses etc and wipe off.

I regularly (a couple times per year) pressure wash my engine with a steam pressure washer. I have never had trouble with the engine electrics afterwards, but I try not to hit things like electrical connectors directly. Engine degreaser works well in conjunction with a pressure washer to break up the grime.

Better than being afraid to wash your vehicle and worrying what's going to fall off next! 😬 🤣

Installed a set of Recaro Expert seats in Tweety today , being over 6ft these fit me way better then the Scheelmann seats and they are not as expensive.

Fitted up the rear main seal housing last night:

Getting closer to getting it back in... just got the sump to go now, but the bolts need to be cleaned up a bit more as the previous install was a bit generous with sealant!

Also need to work out the A and B line in the FSM for the sealant; can see that the A line follows the grove in the sump lip, just working on the B line.

They are a very good fit , I might import some grey cloth ones from Europe in my next container
Did those suspension bases come with them? Or are the Toyota suspension bases just mounted to the floor differently than non-suspension seats?
