4runner fronts are a huge upgrade over stock 60 wipers and takes all of 5 minutes to do - kit from City Racer has everything you need and is well priced.

I also did the 80 rear arm (85241-60011) which is an improvement, but the 13" stock 80 blade (85212-60031) is too long and lifts off the window at the top - I'm about to replace with a 12"

One reason FJ62 stock wipers (in our day) suck is that the springs in the wiper arms are old and tired. You'll notice a big difference in spring tension when you install 4runner wiper arms and lift the wiper off the glass.

They really do improve the wiping.

I did the 4runner front upgrade last week and tested it on a drive to the Oregon coast. Every 60 should have these wiper arms. My originals jumped and skipped and made tons of noise. I can leave these on in a light mist and they continue to silently keep the windshield clear. The CityRacer kit makes it easy!

do the 4 runner arms and blades allow the window squirters to work properly? i have newer oem 62 arms that wipe well but because of all the newer blade attachments they sit so far off the window that they actually block the spray to the glass

Hmmm now that you mention it I did notice that my PS squirter was coming up a little short after the upgrade while the DS works fine. I assumed it was the sprayer itself. I'll investigate a little more today and get back to you.

A lot of good answers in this thread. I personally use the Rain-X washer fluid, Rain-X or Bosch Icon beam style 17" blades (whichever I find less expensive at the time) and have the 4Runner arms. To add to that, my motor is in need of a refurb (getting old and tired) so if the commutator is still good the armature will get a good cleaning in the ultrasonic, new brushes and be reinstalled along with a new ball joint bushing where the motor arm connects to the linkage (courtesy of Absolute Wit's End @NLXTACY), lubricated with Syl-Glide at all pivot joints.

Hi, Personally I like the Anco mud and snow blades . Mike

Yep just recently put some Bosch Icon blades on my Tundra, the previous "OEM" dealer blades didn't last long and chattered bad. These Bosch have been buttery smooth.
I've always shied away from RainX on the windshield...I've seen it create a gummy film and build up on a vehicle, talk about blade chatter, holy hell!! Maybe thing have changed, but RainX on all the other glass and mirrors rocks.

I have 4runner/80 arms and OEM blades on the Cruiser...it's mo betta.

I definitely agree on the actual Rain-X compound. I do like their washer fluid though for winter and rainy weather. My go to in the summer is the Bug Wash.

Do you remember what P/N your 80 arm is? I've come across two different numbers but haven't confirmed which is the best match for a 60.

It looks like the passenger-side squirter is slightly blocked by the wiper arm, although I believe you could adjust it down a bit to fix this problem. The DS is fine. Personally I like the way my wiper arms are adjusted and don't mind that I have to start the wipers to effectively wash that side of the windshield.

Reviving this for a moment. I still have the original arms, which have no J-Hook. I want to run Bosch Icon Beams, but they require the J-Hook. I feel like I've seen them in wiper packages before but the Bosch doesn't have them. Anyone know if there is an add-on hook kit that exists? If not, what works best with the stock arms?

I found there, but have no idea if they will work or not ...

Have decided to buy check traditional blades for now and will upgrade the arms to 4runner and FZJ80 at a later date.
