I had a Toyota dealer toss on some OEM style blades on my FJ62 and they really suck.

I didn’t see many threads in the archive about blade brands in particular, so I thought kicking off one would be a good idea.

What brands and dimensions are you guys running for wiper blades on the FJ60 and FJ62?

City Racer has a upgrade to 4-runner arms with longer blades. He sells the set on his website. It's a little pricey, but works awesome! One of the best upgrades.

I have the 4Runner arms and beam style Bosch Icons, works well and definitely improved over stock.

I use whatever Rock auto has for $1.50 ;)

But I live in the desert. They die often and don't get used much.

Don’t suppose you could recommend a good mud tire? 🤣

I’ve been pretty happy with Michelin’s you get at Costco, they last about 2 yrs max, but
up here that’s how long the windshields last so they’re cheaper anyhow.
Keep the little plastic clip from the old set if using the stock arms though. They are
fundamentally obsolete. I was going to do the 4Runner upgrade but when I went to the
wrecking yard I found an old 60 way in the back with mint condition originals!

It didn't have a tailgate did it?

Do you feel that a Toyo is a better mud tire than a SS SX?

To be honest, from the many miles of gumbo I’ve driven in the north
in my 60. Yes. They perform really well especially when both were down
to the 16 psi range. The SX’s were on an FJ40, SOA, dual ARB’s, soft top so
maybe 2000 lbs lighter. But my fully loaded 60 has dug and cut through
some really nasty stuff on the MT’s. Each truck is a different animal, would
be interested in an actual side by side driven comparison.

What year 4runner did the arms come from?
Thanks.

I find that applying RainX to the windshield helps make any wiper work better and a fresh application of rainX in a nice heavy downpour pretty much eliminates the need for wipers.

this is the way to go! and upgrade the rear window wiper to an 80 series

Were these easy to swap from the factory wiper arms?

I just put rain x on the windshield and then any wiper blade works well enought
