I always recommend to my buddies running a hard mount gmrs in vehicle and then having the handheld for out of vehicle or at camp communication
That is my set.

Test drove across the river to look at @Land Shark s sct. He had me flex it a little. Drove good there and back.

Feel free to drive on the massive pile of dirt still in my driveway if you need

More progress on the SCT. Extended the tongue, added cross braces, and slapped some paint on them.

Been working on getting the axles back under the cruiser. But no real progress pics just a quick diagrammatic one for everyone’s enjoyment.

So you may not remember but the free utility sink that Lawyer Charles gave me was for this exact reason :)

Getting closer everyday. Couple new rotors and freshly painted calipers on. Hoping to have the rear wrapped up Thursday. Not overhauling the front like the rear so crossing my fingers to have that done by Monday.

I see you have your tools in order of priority, left to right! :)

Keep this up and it will be ready for that cross country drive this summer.

Are the brakes on an 80 as easy as the GX? Just did a brake job F&R on my GX last night, probably an hour per axle and most of that time was jacking it up and getting my tools in order. My 80 brakes are perfect at the moment, just knowledge for the future.

Don't know if they are as easy but they aren't bad at all. You do have to remove the caliper but I think an hour per axle sounds reasonable.

Oil change and fuel filter change completed. Checked my front diff and unfortunately I still have Moly getting in my gear oil. Luckily I have a set of axle seals on my shelf. Will need to check for other hub gaskets. I'm fairly certain I have a kit.
