More fun after celebrating cinco de mayo I bet...

the origins of "Crick" as stated by Marshall, from the Chit-chat section

"Chuck is just cross eyed. Been that way since he was a baby. When he was a little boy his friends used to call him Crick. Because Chuck was the smartest one of the bunch and always knew everything. But poor old Chuck was cross eyed. He couldn't see a dewbug on a lilly pad 3 ft in front of him. He constantly shot his friends thinking he was getting that red tailed squirrel or that black footed possum. To this day that nickname stands. Cross eyed Chuck was his name but you can call him Crick for short. And before you gets to hollarin about the missspellins in that name. Look at Chuck and then look at that name and tell me it don't look him right."

don't know if that helps you Bill but it makes me laugh every time

Thanks JP. Sounds about right. Everybody should have a street name, or in our case a woods name. Plenty of Chucks around but this is just the second one for my life.
The other one was from Pickens so same locality so I thought maybe I had screen names messed up.

Hey Chuck, long time no see.

unfortunately I was fresh out hot pink, lime green, neon blue, etc. :D

How about working on the crap we are fixing to put 2200 miles on in about 4 weeks.

waiting on the new diesel engine to come in, before I begin messing with it..... don't worry I've got plenty of time :hillbilly:

JP you would fit in here perfectly. Whenever something gets delayed or you don't get around to it and apologize the answer is "you have time (I can't write the Croatian). The Dalmatian motto it almost seems. But I guess they've already subscribed to enough of those: "La Perla Della Adriatico" (Italian), the "Adriatic Riviera" many travel blogs, and "The New Riviera" (New York Times a few years back, but post independence.)
Also whenever something needs to be done it is just 'done' . . . however, with whatever, cheaply if not free. There is a reasonable facsimile of a dixie flag at the entrance to town on a big soccer booster sign.
So I guess they are whatever redneck translates to here.

Thanks Bill, it is good to know there are like minded people no matter where you go :D

So when is that motor coming?
hopefully in time for you to bring it down for the Banjo -B-Que

Does it come with a spare lug wrench? :D

low blow there steve :flipoff2: but I guess I deserve it :hillbilly:

JP - better than the time years ago I went to have my tires balanced and rotated and I couldn't find the locking lug wrench key. I paid to have the suckers busted off. When I traded that vehicle guess what I found in the trunk - the key still in the OEM plastic.

Taking time to celebrate Mexico's independence, then pressure washing the drivetrain :D

Failure on multiple levels Virgo. Failure 1: you were supposed to be barefoot and surrounded by parts when taking the shot. Failure 2: Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence day, it celebrates the Battle of Puebla. Mexican Independence day is in September. Failure 3: you didn't call. :flipoff2:

Cruiser is looking good though.

well I got rather inebriated so I think that I totally redeemed myself :hillbilly:

The diesel swap? Probably never. The one I got turns out to have a good motor and it will stay that way or better from now on. It will probably run until I die and my son somehow destroys it. Properly maintained these things are carbomb proof.

Most guys do them for more power or economy or because some PO has absolutely trashed one and they buy it as a donor car.
Or they're serious rallyists, wheelers, ice racers, bajaists or whatever. I wrang this one out yesterday on about 300 miles of about 40/60 autobahn and the state road that was there before the freeway, and some city.
Last night I went out and baja-ed a yet-to-be-paved bay-pass to our beach around our village, this morning hammered around on some island main roads (narrow hilly nicely paved twisties) and some maintained but unimproved dirt roads
It will do nicely.
On the lpg it gets about equal to diesel in cost/distance. I never heard of a legal gas system but they're quite common here and most of the big filling stations have it. They have to be installed by a certified mech and checked every I think 3yrs.
But mines not due until 2015.

Not cruiser progress here but, but some progress on my real job... My first real building is near wrapping up. It is a 6,000ft addition to an existing building in downtown Augusta it is funky and modern just like I like. It is very out of the norm by Augusta standards but I am stoked as I can only design so many red brick white column buildings and keep my sanity :hillbilly:
