See my post here (for my GX470). The Lenz snorkel will amount to your 1UR having to breathe through a straw. On my 470 it's at least a 40% reduction in cross-section area in one spot and a 25% reduction through the A-pillar neck (relative to the OEM air intake tube cross-sectional area). On top of that, it's super rough on the inside. Unless the Lenz somehow defies the laws of physics, it's going to provide a significant air flow and likely power restriction.

Mine will be going on eBay and I'll be getting a 4" stainless tube snorkel from Australia instead.
Interesting. Honestly I don't think it is that big of a deal. It's not necessarily a linear relationship between cross sectional area and airflow, but we'll see.

The air velocity will need to increase for a given RPM to make up for the reduced cross-sectional area of the Lenz (in a direct linear relationship). However, as air velocity increases, so do frictional losses. This friction to velocity relationship is linear under laminar flow, but when the flow turns turbulent, frictional losses increase by the square of the velocity. The friction losses will also be higher in the Lenz than in a snorkel with a smooth surface, since it is so rough on the inside, and the funky twists and turns in the Lenz will probably cause some additional losses and turbulence as well.

I am unsure of how much actual power reduction there will be, and a dyno would be needed to verify it. For me, it's just too much of a risk as the fender is ruined after installation. I was 80% sure it wasn't going on my rig when I opened the box....after 15 minutes of examining and tape-measuring, that went to 100%.

How was the install? A couple of minutes or???
Doesn't take too long... most of the dash parts just pop off, just gotta do them in the right sequence. The only tool needed is a screwdriver for two screws.

It went especially fast for me, as I had done it before, twice, to install and remove the Hypertech unit that declined to be useful in our application.

Quick hint: Plug in your seatbelt during the install so the steering wheel stays out from the dash. Makes access much easier. Also, the Lutz directions are pretty good, but the vent panel comes off easier if you remove the end panel (facing the door) first.

******* pic 3 looks like a good time
I have a video of that but don't know how to insert it here... tried but it didn't work.

Anyway, the video is probably not as exciting as you think, I didn't go through that notch but instead crossed over behind the big boulder and went to the right of it.

I was thinking that v notch might be a bit spicy for a GX.

Might've made ti... but might've just gotten hung up on the sliders.

Me and the 392 Wrangler were just hanging back, letting folks ahead of us try their luck. We didn't have much trouble.

I 100% get that.

I am more of a completionist then an exhibitionist, so I let the Jeep folks go for glory. If I wanted glory I would go race class 8.

Got that 💩 out of my system in my teens and twenties.

Extra credit for the Pennsylvania Tuxedo I can't recall when I didn't have at least one. Most of my friends here do as well, easy enough to spot the guy from Mn. Or Pa.

68 soon so I don't wear shorts anymore and no one should be punished by having to look at my legs LOL.

:D I'm only a few years behind ya... I've reached "don't care" age.

Pushing 67 this April (next month) and I (we) live in shorts. But again, we're a surfing family, so that's standard issue around here, that and being either barefoot or in slaps/thongs/sandals/slippa's (depending up where you've grown up). Just got back from one of my 4 mile walks along our beach trail in just a tank, shorts and sandals.
