I want a Vehicross. It's funny how they'd sell like hotcakes today but didn't back then. I'd 100% buy a new one today.

Love those Vericross's. Before the GX, was looking at them but considering Isuzu bugged out of the U.S. and being an older vehicle, I had serious concerns about support beyond the just online forums. Also, as you mentioned, space is small and considering that with the GX, my wife and I pretty well pack out the GX with all our comfortable overland gear.
Plus, they're so small that a roof top tent would look ridiculous, like the couple times I've seen RTT's on Mini Coopers.
Great Pictures thanks for posting them. I’ve got to get back out there.

Another trip in August, on the way west I stopped in the Nebraska National Forest. Did you know Nebraska has a national forest?

I continued on to Wyoming, and met a friend in the Snowy Mountains in the Medicine Bow National Forest.

I like that area and state. Looks like you're having a good time!

Boy! That thing is STACKED!!!
Yeah, as expected, they review it as very cramped. The photo of the couple look similar to the same size (height and girth) as both my wife and I. And the tent they have looks to be one of the smaller RTT's.
Also the only other drawbacks for me is that torsion front suspension. Had that on my 100 series LC and hated it. Lack of a 4Lo and only being a 4 speed. Heck, I though most everything came in 5 speed automatic back in two double naught one!
But aside from that, If they were selling them today, I just may want to buy one! Although I'm not sure I'd overland it, but probably make it a little more off road capable.
I just love the styling.

That one in the article is badass.

The VehiCROSS does have 4Lo, it had the same TOD transfer case as the Trooper.

Isn't it basicly a 2nd gen Amigo

Same chassis as a short wheelbase (2-door) Trooper... they also used some Rodeo parts for various things too... whatever worked.

From Wyoming we went down and met the Isuzu group in Gunnison Colorado. It was our first time in this area, and we found some really nice trails, though nothing too technical other than the Devils Punchbowl. We also found a dead moose.

Did you know Nebraska has a national forest? No I did not! Used to go down there once a year to do the Flatwater SxS shoot but it has been a few years since they have held one.

Hope you took your flyrod to Medicine Bow and had much success! Story has it that in Nebraska you only need a handline and an old rusted nut on the end of it to fish. Because bullheads ain't picky... Hey just repeating what I've been told!

Just like the N is for knowledge. 😂

After running 35s for about 50k miles I was experiencing clunking from the front suspension every time I would start moving from forward to reverse, or vice versa. I suspected the LCA bushings, and decided to replace the LCAs (which come with new bushings and ball joints from Toyota).

The job went fine and wasn't too difficult (though I will say having a two-post lift makes this kind of stuff sooooooo much easier), the cam bolts were not frozen to the bushings as can happen.

I was wondering if I wasted my time and money, as the old bushings were not visibly worn and the LBJ was more flexy than the new one but not really loose, but I am happy to report that on initial drive the clunking is gone and the GX drives very nicely now.

Next up, I will be replacing the old beat up aluminum skid plates I had adapted from my old FJC with new Victory skids, in steel since I now have a second vehicle for driving around in the road salt. The last package from Victory just arrived, so all systems are go.

Sounds like you're having a very Merry Christmas already!!
...(very jealous about your 2 post lift😡...)
