I just completed the install of a nice Vintage Air system in my 1973 FJ40. I am not getting hardly any air flow out of the pictured vents. Adjusting the defrost/floor pull switch does not seem to do much of anything. Tons of air comes out by the feet, not so much at these vents. Those of you with these systems, is this normal?

Thanks in advance,
Justin

Mine is the old system without the controls built in but I get lots of air out of those vents.

Check if your airflow selector cable is correctly hooked up.

Ditto, Please!

I think the heat/AC (fresh) pull toggles it to the vents but also engages the AC compressor. It was years ago that I installed one of these and I sold that fj40 not long afterward so I could be wrong.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner! It was the AC/heat pull switch. Mine was so buggered up it didn't work well. Once I got it freed up, works great and directs most of the airflow from the feet to these upper vents. Thanks @MOTOV8R!

@BrianSanDiego and @caladin this Vintage Air unit works great so far! Still pretty cold where I'm at, so I haven't charged the AC yet. I'll update when I have. The heater throws out plenty of heat though.
