I have a brass tagged 1965 fj45 pickup. I bought this five years or so ago from @shmukster after he put a used 1972 f engine in it . My brother in law “helped” me adjust the distributor....but it didn’t get seated all the way. Ended up locking up the motor due to lack of oil flow - happens when you don’t seat the distributor all the way. I bought a used 2f engine and over the course of 4 years put it in. I am over it and need to get it out of my garage. It needs to be tuned up with plugs (included) and adjusting the beautiful large glass carb. It will need to have an air cleaner installed (f engine oil bath cleaner installed)
  • disc brake all the way around
  • Transfer case rebuilt by @OTRAMM
  • Electric gauges installed. Need to hookup speedo cable
  • Need to change parking brake cable. I gave Ryan the wrong one. New one included
  • Install headlight relay kit from painless
  • Drive it like you stole it with the three speed tranny
  • Frame and body is in good condition. Bed was cut by previous owners when they took it from Maryland to tip of South America. Stickers on windows are from trips thru Mexico
  • $16k

frame is in good condition - I was planning to wire brush it down and put a chassis saver or POR 15 on it. there is some rust in the body beneath the floor panels...see pictures. The running boards were replaced at one time and need to be replaced again.

this would be the perfect rig to just finish out a few details and have a solid rig. I've bought and sold lots of rigs in my 15 years on ih8mud. I just wanna have this out of my garage....

So is it running and driving now? Looks pretty cool. Are the floors solid?

Thanks

It runs, drives, and stops. Need emergency brake cable hooked up and air filter.

floor pans are solid. Rust in rockers.

Engine pic with the sd40 on a 2f? Someone should jump quick, these early us spec lpb’s are getting hard to find, looks like a solid patina driver! Glws!

thanks! The patina on the front is amazing. Top has been repaired as has tailgate. Spread some fluid film on the truck like Nolen has done on his patina trucks and you’d be good to go

pic below show Chevy one wire alternator, 80 series gas pedal linkage, brake booster and cleaned up valve cover.
No heater is currently installed. Heater parts and blower included with truck

Yes - I started it at $17.5

Man... I thought I would end up seeing this at CMCC. :)

You will! You buy it and you will see it at coal mine and anywhere else you drive it! Trying to pay for the counter tops and appliances for the idaho cabin. :)

So I would need to hook up the headlights and speedometer to drive this back to CA?
