Definitely what I'm thinking. Hope to have the axle under the truck again this weekend so I can get a better assessment.Perfect for 37s![]()
That's what we're thinking with the brakes. We were looking at an 80; driver and passenger ABS lines are routed to the axle via the driver side radius arm. There is a metal protective plate that covers the lines. The passenger side ABS line is routed through a metal tube over the axle to the other side. Doesn't look like routing both of the 100 ABS lines down the driver side is a viable option, so we're going to have to figure out a way to run that line down the passenger radius arm, while also protecting them from potential trial damage.Run the brake lines inside the frame with the abs wiring. I was looking at an 80 frame and the two front bolt on brackets/tombstones looked like they will work. If you drop the brake hose outside the frame and swap to 35"s the tire will hit the brake lines. Ill be moving mine after the relic run. And prob copying the panhard mod from you.
It's starting to look like a UZJ105. Waiting on the Bora spacers, so could not properly install the wheels. That didn't stop me from throwing my 33's and a 35 @AJR had sitting around the shop under the truck to get an idea of ride height. Still debating 35s vs 37s.

I bought my last set at Discount Tire. I was thinking about doing exactly what you're suggesting. I've had pretty positive dealings with the one close to me. A few of the guys, including the manager, are into off-roading, so I think they enjoy that kind of stuff.Go talk to discount tire if you have one in your area. Depending on the manager of the store, they stand behind their satisfaction guarantee. If you get a cool manager, they will order 2 sets of tires for you (as long as they are in a network warehouse and not a custom order) and will mount them on for you to try and you keep the ones you are satisfied with.
More than likely, you will have to do a bit of cutting for 37’s.
I love the 90 series styling for some reason, seeing more of these come up for sale in the states now that they oldest ones are legal. Jealous, but congrats. What kind of mpg are you seeing?Unrelated, but I picked up a JDM toy this week from Japanese Classics in Richmond, VA. 1996 KZJ95 with the 1KZ-TE. Since selling my 62, I needed another back-up Cruiser. Loving the diesel and the gas mileage.
Thanks... Haven't done the calculations yet. I just know it takes me about half the amount of fuel to drive an hour, when compared to the 100. I reset the odometer when I filled up a few days ago, so next time it's on E, I'll have an accurate estimate.I love the 90 series styling for some reason, seeing more of these come up for sale in the states now that they oldest ones are legal.
