Well unfortunately things have not gone well for my 80...

Lol just kidding. Went to the junk yard to steal parts off this 92. Carpet was pretty good bud dirty. Got some other little knick knacks off of it. Pressure washed the carpet. Its drying now.

Threw on a different battery cable end I had laying around.

The gm ecu is pretty water resistant. It has silicone plugs that the wires puncture through. When rewiring the ecu you pull some wires which leaves a open hole in the silicone. So I dabbed some silicone over those no longer used open pins so water doesn't get into the pins. Nervously I pressure washed the ecu after. Still runs so should be good.

New 3 core manual transmission radiator from ebay. Hopefully it works ok, was only 200 bucks shipped.

I am really happy with this radiator. Today was pretty hot and I took it up a mountain pass to test the difference using live ecu data. With the 2 core plastic tank radiator and trans shifted to 3rd gear temp would climb to 210. This worried me because I plan to tow stuff and if its climbing in temp while now towing, how much will it climb while towing?
With the new radiator I really pushed it. I put it in overdrive and kinda let the motor lug. Temp climbed to 197. Temp normally stays at around 194 around town. So I think this will work.:hmm: When I down shifted to 3rd the temp went to 194.

My tcase is making a growling noise at speed. So to reduce down time I bought a used tcase to rebuild. Spent about 45 minutes with the pressure washer and wire brush to clean it up.

Semi gloss black is a good match for arb powder coat.

Added a double layer of noico sound deadening to the cargo area floor. I dont think it made a difference whatsoever. Definitely not doing any more of the truck. Also made some new cargo hooks out of stainless.View attachment 2066439View attachment 2066441

Did you install the foam insulation on top as well? If not this would need to be done too. The rubber mat for vibration, the foam for thermal and sound waves.

Plus that is a stronger area of steel and does not vibrate as much as other panels. The wheel wells, quarter panels, door areas and roof will vibrate much more....

I just did the four main doors and it was a huge difference.

I did not do foam. Sound insulation seems like a huge rabbit hole. I get mainly bass type sound from the LS. I've read noico is more for higher pitched sounds.

Like many others, I missed your build up until now. Just read through the whole thread. Very nice job on your truck!
